Smart cast is a function which lets you cast your abilities in the direction of your mouse. Like summoner spell Flash. I play lots of Talon. I die all the time too. He's just made that way. He has no escape, apart from ult, and he can't kill anyone without it. He also can't 1shot squishies with full combo unless he's far ahead, so you pretty much die after killing 1 target if you're lucky.

As the guy already said, smart cast makes you cast your abilities towards your mouse cursor. In the Talon case, you would cast your Rake instantly on button press without being forced to press the button and than click with your mouse. That basically makes you perform way better and faster when you get used to it.

As for your other question...that's Talon dude, he's made to be killed because he's an all in assassin and if you don't manage to get fed and 1 shoot your enemy you are most likely screwed. :D

OK wtf. All these noobs above me saying Talon is made to be killed. ROFL. Please actually play Talon correctly and don't post retarded statements.

  1. Smartcast is when you don't have to click a target or a location to have your ability go off, it just goes off automatically where your cursor is. This is really useful for saving time and getting off your combos quickly without wasting those few seconds clicking the ground or your target.
  2. Talon can go mid, top, adc, jungle, but he's most viable mid. This is because your opponent will be usually squishy, and you are an assasin, made to kill targets with low hp/low defenses. You want to poke the enemy a bit with your W, to get them around 70% hp, then you can burst them.

Starting items : item 1036 item 2003 item 2003 item 2003 item 3340 Core : item 3077 item 3134 item 1001 First completed item : item 3142 Finished build in order you complete : item 3142 item 3035 item 3031 item 3071 item 3074 item 3111

This will give you a lot of burst while still being a bit durable with the 400 HP from Black Cleaver, tenacity from mercs, and sustain from ravenous. Don't forget to use your Youmuus and Ravenous Hydra actives too. A neat trick you can do to kill people that are alone without giving them a chance to kill you is stand a distance away where they can't see you, use your ult, youmuus, run towards them, E > Auto Attack > Q > W > Tiamat. Your 2nd part of the ult will do damage to the enemy and they will just get deleted. Just keep playing talon and you'll get used to his weaknesses, and capitalize on his strengths. He's really strong right now, as he's one of the only assassins that can get to the enemy back line without being damaged and run away quickly. He also has a a lot of AOE damage and burst. GL HF

Talon is NOT made to be killed, if you play him correctly he can annihilate the enemy ADC and mid laner while being able to dish out a lot of DPS. He's a great duelist, and can one shot pretty much anyone late game with all the armor pen from the build

So smart cast has already been covered.

To your second point, I would become very very very skilled at last-hitting (cs-ing) in lane. To stress how important that skill is, it's possible to come back after being killed twice in lane and beat your opponent if you have great last-hitting skills.

On that note, Talon isn't the greatest champ to learn to cs with. In fact, most melee champs are going to be more difficult than a ranged champ to cs with - I would highly recommend playing adc bot lane or picking up a mage to mid with, simply to become a king of last-hitting. Once you can comfortably acquire 60 cs by the 9 minute mark, than transition to melee champs. Best of luck!
