Champions similar to Leona, Amumu, Annie?

Hey there! ^^

I'm the type of person that likes to fill every lane, in hopes that people'll feel more confident in picking their champions/lanes. ^^ But, a minor problem that I face is that... sometimes, I have to fill top or ADC. While that's not bad, (okay, yes, I can't play those two roles as well as the other three), I can hold lane with the other laner having a slight advantage, like CS. But at the same time, I'm not really confident in those two roles because I'm not even sure if the champions I'm using fit my playstyle.

I really like these champions (Leona, Amumu, Annie) for similar reasons actually.

  1. They're very fast in pulling off their CC. I personally struggle with using anything that has a delay or channel. (-coughs- Morgana ult. )
  2. They actually do a lot of AoE damage in a teamfight. Sometimes, I'll do more damage than someone else on my team if I'm Leona with a Sunfire Cape.
  3. They have the option to CC more than once in a teamfight. I thought about using Nami, but her ult feels slow. ;-; (first point)
  4. They also do instant burst damage. If not instant, they CC the person to death anyway, with or without help from a teammate. (Amumu: Q, ult, Q; Leona, E, Q, ult, E, Q; Annie: Use Q, W, ult? Throw in passive somewhere?) I used to play Akali (stickiness!), Cassiopeia (stun, damage), Katarina (cleanup), but they don't burst as hard as Annie's four button mash within a second. (Akali: Q, auto; Cass: Poisoned? Spam E; Katarina: Wait for Q animation, jump in.)
  5. Because of their CC, they can potentially save a teammate, teammateS (AoE stun :3), or turn around a fight in their favor.
  6. I like their engage. Sure, Annie struggles a little, but I'm completely fine with her, as she makes up for it with her burstier damage. I can't stand walking up to someone, so I like gap closers, like Amumu's Q, or Leona's E. Even though it's expected, it's not like charging in their face. (Ex: Yi ult, run up to their face. Q.)

Thanks for taking your time reading! o3o

You can try out Nautilus for top or support, and Thresh for support. Those are my instinctive thoughts.

top; maybe try malphite or naut. both are tanky with cc. and good engages. might be your style.

adc: i hate this role. i picked ashe for this one. good range. easy mechanics, aoe stun arrow. for long range initiation. and you can go 0/20 and still be relavant with the stun

Nautilus sounds like exactly your speed. He can go top, jungle, or support, and is good in all three roles. Hits everything you said: CC, gap closer/engage, good damage, not too difficult.

As for ADC, that's a tougher one. There's basically no ADC with those qualities. For a relatively easy ADC, I'd suggest Tristana. She's got a lot of self peel and therefore safety, and you can also use her ult to save someone else in a pinch.

Sejuani is a female Amumu riding a boar. Basically. They're pretty much the same person.

Hecarim I'm adding this to the list of suggested champs, I can initiate with e (knocks back one enemy), r (fears however you hit with it), ghost (tons of dmg), and a tp homeguard combo (tons of dmg). And you can combo any of the above or all together depending on the situation.

You might like top Lissandra for the AoE/CC/engage/etc. Potentially Nautilus, Malphite, or Wukong as well.

For ADC, Sivir has a ton of AoE and is good at engaging fights. She has some burst with her Q. No CC, of course. Then there's Ashe if you want to focus more on CC/engage.

Hey there, top lane main here.

Sounds to me that you like big CC and instant damage, with perhaps a slight preference for tanks.

I'd highly recommend Sion as a viable top lane and jungle tank. Though his early game can be rough against some opponents, a well-farmed Sion is the tankiest fucker in the game. His ult is an amazing initiation or peeling tool, and after landing it he has a knockup, a slow (that shreds armour, helping your ADC), and a shield that then explodes to deal percent health damage. His passive is a little underwhelming, but it is entirely possible to secure kills with it as well.

Malphite is also a great choice (especially against a lot of AD champions). Although he lacks hard CC outside of his ultimate, he has damage that scales with his armour (letting him build feel tank and do pretty good damage), a slow that steals movement speed from his enemies, and an attack speed slow which is amazing at shutting down champions like Vayne in a team fight. Malphite is also good because he's a solid champion to play from behind as due to his utility.

Jarvan IV is another really solid pick, with good damage and tankiness, as well as multiple forms of CC in team fights. Just make sure you don't fuck your team with your ult.

Hecarim is a solid top laner who has multiple forms of hard CC, with his ult being AOE, and a lot of diving ability.

I'd also highly recommend Shen, who is great at snowballing other lanes due to his ability to ult into a losing fight and taunt the enemies, setting his allies up to kill them.

Maokai would suit your preference too. His burst damage is fairly high for a tank, he has great CC, and also the benefits of an AOE team buff.

As a budding Wukong main, I should mention him. Wukong has huge burst, respectable tankiness, AOE CC on his ultimate, stealth, armour shred, a gap closer, he's a great pick that's fairly easy to pick up and play for someone filling top.

For ADCs, by their very nature they have less utility than other classes. Have you tried Varus, however? His ult is good for setting up a fight and if you use his W properly he has pretty good burst damage.

Graves has less utility, but even higher burst, and is also fairly easy to play for someone who is just filling a role they aren't familiar with.

Ashe is the ADC with the most utility, and is fairly simple to play.

Jinx also has some CC in her kit, is pretty easy to play, and just generally really strong.
