The Ability to View a Person's Secondary (Tertiary/Quaternary/Quinary) in a Draft Game?
Introduction: Before Dynamic Queue, you'd remember that if you ever played a Draft Game (Normal or Ranked), you'd be thrown into a Chat Lobby (like Blind Pick), and you'd get to call your roles.
I'm not complaining about Dynamic Queue, as it gets rid of the, "I called this lane first, noob", and "Fine, don't feed in MY lane" hostility.
Problem: However, Dynamic Queue removed the ability to make a flexible team. (This mostly applies to Solo Queue.)
What I mean:
- Dynamic Queue pretty much sticks you into the role you're assigned, which means that there isn't much wiggle room to get out of the lane you were assigned.
- Let's say you're first pick in the old Draft System. You can pick Fizz, and say "flex pick top/mid/jg"
- Let's say you're first pick in the new Draft System. You're ASSIGNED a lane, and most people are not willing to swap their lane (because they clicked on what lane they wanted beforehand). You can still pick Fizz, but you're probably forced into playing (top/mid/jg) lane.
Solution: The ability to view a person's secondary (tertiary/quaternary/quinary) in a Draft Game.
What it might do:
- People that tend to dislike being first pick because of the possibility of getting counterpicked may have the option for wiggle room in choosing another lane. "Yo, I'm first pick as mid. Can I (top/jg/adc/supp) instead?"
- People that have overlapping roles can swap lanes for a better pick order, or if they do not like facing a certain champ at that lane. "Lol, I don't want to first pick Yasuo. Can you last pick him for me please?" or "Umm, I struggle laning against Malph. Is it cool if you top instead?"
- Allow the option of "Fill" to actually "Fill" a lane (as opposed to being force shoved into a lane with no say.)
Reasoning:
- Some people that are first pick simply cringe, lock in, and pray for the best. However, the other team can counterpick, so this usually doesn't end well.
- People that have the same lanes as you have a higher chance of understanding in dealing with a certain problem with that lane. (Champion matchup, objective control, laning/mid/end game)
Sincerely, a "Fill" main that used to say, "fill, pref _____"
