I want to improve, but I don't know how.

I have been playing since the start of season 5, having switched over from TF2 as my main game. I wanted something more serious and engaging. I found that in League. Now, after I recently placed Silver IV after my placements, I realize I need to improve greatly, but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. What are the most common mechanical errors repeated by players like me, and how can I fix them? Thanks, item 3087 (Teslablade)

I would tell you: the game is about resource control and windows of timing. The consistent way to gain an advantage is through gold and objectives (towers, buffs, inhibs). Aside from that, understanding where your champion is strong and weak is understanding how and when you can press for advantage, and when you shouldn't.

And yeah, vision is pretty much ownership of that portion of the map. The upgraded ward trinket is absurdly gold efficient for its power.

Looking at your games on op.gg, I think that you should improve your warding, your CSing and your positioning. Buying wards and placing them in fruitful locations will mean that you control the map, you can find almost anyone and catch them out. CSing means getting the last hit on minions so that you can get the gold that they drop when they die. If you can CS very well, then you will be ahead of your opponents by quite a bit of gold. About 14 CS is equal to 1 kill.

Play games as the support. It will help you learn vision control as well as peeling and lane presence throughout the laning phase.

Upgrade your trinkets. Not at 18, but at least somewhere in midgame. For a support I try to upgrade sooner than my non-supports.
