How to lane vs a Viktor?

Every time I play mid in ranked solo queue they seem to pick a Viktor. Every time I end up feeding because I don't know how to counter that crazy early game damage from his Q and E. Can anyone give me some insight so I can stop feeding victors?

Counter pick wise, champions with long range abilities can really make Viktor miserable as his ranges aren't that great.

Counterplay wise consider buy MS early (boots, aether wisp, etc) so you can avoid death ray which is most of his damage. You can also ask the jungler to gank as he's easily susceptible to them given his lack of mobility.

Be passive, don't let him poke you down. lvl 6 unless your 100% be afraid, be very afraid.....

Dodge his death ray thingy. That`s his highest scaling ability.

Keep your cursor close to your champ so you can sidestep viktor's e and keep your eyes on viktor's model, notice that his q is a 2 stages ability the first part is low magical damage ray and the second is high damage enchanted auto attack , he can't excecute the second part immediately after the first so step back each time and wait for him to use it on a creep, his early ability cooldowns are very long leaving you big windows of opportunity to harass him , he is also very venerable to gangs so ask your jungler for some help. If all that doesn't work and you still keep losing to every viktor in lane, go ahead and purchase viktor , try him out and figure out his weaknesses.

keep your distance attack him when his spells are on cool down and bait his lazer, work on dodging spells and out poke/burst him.

Dodge his Death Ray and within the next 7.5-ish seconds he's basically a free kill unless of course he's ridiculously fed in most duels/teamfights. His Death Ray is his primary poke and damage output.

Also remember that his Q's damage is split into two halves, one is his actual Q which doesn't do all that much damage and only gives him the shield mainly, but the other half is his auto attack which has less range than his Q. So abuse the range difference.

Also remember this his ult's only damage isn't just over time, when he spawns it he does a nice burst but the damage over time isn't that scary, It's why he has such a big spike at level 6 though due to the ult being a huge AoE burst that's fairly hard to miss, but it can mess up teams if they decide to not stay into it.

His early game is pretty weak UNTIL he gets his first passive upgrade by the way, It's because he basically gains like 40% more damage on his E, don't get me wrong he can still kill you before that, but I find it similar to Akali. You farm until level 6 and then kill everybody. It's the same with Viktor except you can hit this power spike sooner or later depending on your farm to 1,000 gold, and you also can be more offensive than an Akali pre-6 would be.
