To get Rumble or Irelia?
Im a top lane that just got 4.8k and I want to know which of these champions is in a "better place" so to speak. Which one is better at carrying solo, which one is better at team fighting, etc etc.

I would personally put forth a recommendation of Rumble. He's a very safe pick with superb team fighting.
If you have never played either champion, I would suggest Irelia. She often has very good matchups against pretty much any melee toplaner, and has fantastic duel potential. Rumble is quite an unsafe pick into most matchups I would say, and has a very high skill cap (and floor) He's pretty hard to learn, and as a new rumble player you will likely be frustrated at first by how hard he is to learn. And it's all a matter of playstyle preference, Rumble is a big scary teamfight monster whose laning can be very good or very bad, While Irelia wins most lanes, and is a fantastic 1v1 in your face murder your squishy sort of person. Both are powerful in their own right. Personally if it was my IP, I'd be buying Irelia, but it's entirely up to you.
