Critical Chance/Damage Runes on New Ashe

What are your thoughts on running Crit Chance/Damage runes on the new Ashe since she now has guaranteed crits during the early game (where runes tend to matter the most)?

I'm not sure about marks, but I think it may be worth it to replace AS quints with Crit Damage quints.

Her bonus damage still scales based on her current AD. Here's a little math for you:

At level 1 Ashe has 51 Base AD, Dorans gives 7

Standard AD page - +15.3 damage, armor seals, MR glyphs Level 1 Ashe w/ Dorans - (73.3)(1.1) + (73.3)(0)(1) = 80.63

Crit Quints, AD Marks - +5.58% Crit chance, +8.55 damage, armor seals, MR glyphs Level 1 Ashe w/ Dorans - (66.55)(1.1) + (66.55)(0.0558)(1) = **76.91 **

AD Quints, Crit Marks - +6.75 damage, +8.37% Crit chance, armor seals, MR glyphs Level 1 Ashe w/ Dorans - (64.75)(1.1) + (64.75)(0.0837)(1) = 76.64

So as you can see, base damage is far more valuable than crit chance as is the case with every ADC at early levels. It isn't until you've built a large amount of AD that crit chance and crit damage start to scale well with your champion.

Don't do crit damage runes. As Ashe crits on every attack (minus the first), her critical damage scales with her crit chance, so every little point in crit chance increases the damage. Extra crit damage I believe won't actually do much or anything at all

Flat AD gives the best early level damage, Crit chance is ok early, good mid, ok late, Crit damage is useless early, good mid, and very strong late. It is all about when you want to powerspike as well as how much crit chance you are going to build (like if you get to late game and sell boots for a second PD to get up to 90% crit, crit damage runes deal far more damage than crit chance runes).

I did the math, and the way her crit multiplier works, she gets about half as much effective DPS from getting crit chance as getting flat AD for the early game until she gets an IE, at which point crit chance is at its strongest. After you get more damage and another crit item though, the crit damage starts to outsell the DPS boost of either flat AD or crit chance, pretty significantly by late game (something like 15% more AD as damage per crit with crit damage runes).

If you're in draft and the enemy team is full AD, you can be ballsy and take attack speed glyphs (picked this up from higher elos) and take crit quints.

why does every say it is guaranteed criticales? I never read anything about criticles... only bonus damage...

+crit damage in particular feels like a potent amplifier to her lategame burst.

If you stock up on +crit damage runes and either get some +critchance runes as well or an early item 3093 or item 3086, then once you get over your overly subpar early game and start building AD you're gonna start spiking harder than normally.

Might definatively be worth it in ARAM, where you get enough to start with an Avarice and a Doran's blade.

The formula " (TotalAD)x1.1+(TotalAD)x((CritChanceStat)x(1+(CritDamageStat)))" is slightly misleading. It counts Crit chance as a whole number, while they count crit damage as a percent.

You can get 14% crit chance from runes, or 33% crit damage from runes, put the formula reads them as "14" and ".33"

I did some math that I don't feel like posting here, but you get a greater benefit from Crit chance until you get about 50% crit chance, then you get more benefit from the crit damage runes.

I am not sure if its a bug, or it just supposed to be but the very first AA if the passive is not on the unit, Ashe NEVER crits, even if she has 100% critical chance. Thats one thing. The other is more funny. Critical damage runes on Ashe doesn't works. You won't get those plus damages from your runes (max 46%) because Ashe crits only from her passive. Which means, critical chance runes works ridiculously well on her. Tested it, not just a theory.

If you were going to go any, I would say Crit damage cause you're going to get chance from your items.

Crit Damage is for later in the game when you get item 3031 and some Crit Chance and Ashe is a more for the mid - late game anyways and is very weak early, so it isn't horrible; as long as you're good at last hitting.

But at the same time your going for a one time crit, which is going to impact your over all DPS in a fight. The big problem I think is that: Ashe is a poke ADC and by limiting your poke to a time base passive is just going to weaken you, so you'll be missing out on a lot of poke damage not taking damage runes. It only works once and can only charge when you're not attacking, so if you're attacked when it's charging your and an even worst advantage then you already are, with Ashe being so weak early on.

To be fully honest I would stay away for her all together.

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/VPBE has the damage equation for her new passive, so there's a bit of math you gotta do, but I hope it answers your question.
