Possible Poacher's Knife Change

Poacher's Knife is, as most would agree, in a tough place at present. Designed as an early-game counter-jungling item, its bonus gold, reduced smite cooldown (to clear camps more quickly), and movement speed buff (to dart in/out of the enemy's jungle or to reach the next camp that much faster) on monster kills in the enemy jungle are designed to launch the counter-jungler ahead in gold and experience while the enemy jungler lags behind. However, a dedicated counter-jungling strategy has been found to offer too little risk to reward; instead, counter-jungling has become opportunistic poaching when the jungler appears on the other side of the map.

Perhaps the greatest weakness of Poaching Smite is its loss of utility as the game progresses; without the success of its intended early snowballing, Poaching Smite becomes near useless. The other smites retain much greater utility as the game enters its ending stages. Chilling Smite offers its slow/speed-boost, of course; Challenging Smite offers its damage reduction; Blasting Smite offers the chance, should a fight occur near a jungle camp, to heal 15% of missing HP/restore 15% of missing mana.

Thus, the best change to Poacher's Knife would be to remove its dependency on early-game snowballing and instead offer more utility-based aspects for either dedicated or opportunistic counter-jungling. I propose the following changes:

REMOVE: Bonus Gold on Monster Kill in Enemy Jungle REMOVE: Movement Speed Boost on Monster Kill in Enemy Jungle

NEW EFFECT Poacher's Harvest: Smiting Monsters in the enemy jungle increases the strength of the smite buffs that they give. The following suggestions are just concepts; they are probably not balanced or of equal value.

Crimson Raptors: Buff changed to Pilfered Crimson Sight. Crimson Sight can now trigger twice. Murkwolves: The sight-granting wolf spirit now travels faster and lasts longer OR spawns two spirits (enabling multiple groups of champions to be tracked at the same time). Gromp: Buff changed to Pilfered Gift of the Toadstool. The poison effect is stronger. Krugs: Buff changed to Pilfered Gift of Heavy Hands. Monsters are now stunned more often and turrets take more true damage. Blue Buff: (To be honest, I don't think anyone smites this...) Now additionally refreshes all non-ultimate cooldowns on smiting it. Red Buff: Health restore changed to %maximum HP from %missing HP.

TL;DR Skip the first two paragraphs, read the rest.

Let me know what you think.
