I'm trying to practice my CS but some minion mechanics are boggling my mind. Why do they switch targets so often? They're either ALL attacking each minion bursting them down so freaking fast that I cant possible sneak an auto in, or in man coverage where enemy minions are dying simultaneously and my attack speed can't keep up. I've watched pros practice and it just seems like that doesnt happen to them. Any advice? INB4 Get good noob....

Learn to "lead" your attacks, if your creeps are focusing. Practice with a champion until you know the speed of their autos, and then hit just before your creeps do.

If your attack speed won't keep up, move to reset. I can't explain this well, so go to youtube and look up how to cancel animations. Also search "LoL orbwalking" as it's a useful skill, and the two tie together.

Pay attention to how much your creeps do, and you'll find you have the ability to take a lot more of the CS for yourself, one at a time.

Lastly: Practice. Go into a custom game every day before playing what you'd normally play, with no friends or bots or anything, and just practice for a bit. It's the thing that will cause you to improve the most.

Auto attack after minions get in their attacks so you don't go early but don't go too late. I suck at csing too since I main support and I rarely cs...which is mostly why my cs sucks overall

You'll find learning to CS right next to Carnegie hall.

Focus on how many more minion hits will kill the creep rather than how much damage you THINK you can do to kill it.

People who do the latter will often miss a creep by attacking and leaving it low enough for the next minion attack to kill it.

Doing the former, you want to attack when you think 1 or 2 more attacks will kill it. So if 6 minions are attacking it and it's 5 minion hits from dead, you need to time your attack to contact the minion after 2-3 of those attacks hit. You can only really learn that part by practicing the champion and learning their attack animation.

Finally, it comes to using abilities to waveclear. Learn how much damage your abilities will do to melee and caster minions at each rank and at various points in your build. Your goal is typically to auto attack the casters until your ability will kill all 3 of them, then use the ability to kill the melee minion being attacked as well as the 3 casters, then proceed to last hit the 2 melee minions left as normal. Again, this really comes with practice. Which is why it sucked so much for mid laners when riot exchanged magic resist and armour on minions for health so pen wouldn't help waveclear (as mages take magic pen marks) - this stopped the ability of being able to clear 100-0 the caster minions at rank 5 of the spell when even (now you need an auto attack still unless you're ahead).

  1. Go to a custom game by yourself

  2. Pick Karthus

  3. Use an empty rune page and use NO masteries

  4. Go to mid lane and CS every minion until you get 50 without missing a single one

  5. Repeat until you achieve the above goal

Just go into a private match and practice until you are able to figure out a good way to predict it. I spent like 2 hours just last hitting when I hit level 30 and it completely changed my game

Do this.

Pick someone that can play Caitlyn. Then run a CS shop with the following rules:

  1. She is allowed to both CS and harass you.
  2. You are NOT allowed to harass her.

This will help you focus on cs'ing under fire, when it's smart to go for cs based on opponent or wait, etc.

Then move to having both of you doing that, when you feel comfy, and try to get to where both shops you have comperable CS.

If you can do that, you are probably in a much better spot.

Btw, I play cait. ;) If you want a hand.
