when there is a team fight going on stop worrying about your fucking cs and killing the minion wave behind you and help the dam team!

There're two slight caveats to that, firstly, if it's a really really bad teamfight and your help will inevitably be either not enough or too late to win the fight then you're better off staying safe-ish and just getting some farm and not giving the extra team another kill. And secondly if it's the opposite and the fight will be over by the time you get there and those extra cs will either speed up your post fight tower pushing or get you more gold than the assists you'd get from the teamfight. But those are pretty extreme scenarios and for most fights that's a good, if slightly rage-induced tip.

The worst part is the team will engage before ADC can arrive. Say there's a 20 minion wave pushing tier 2 in bot lane. Nobody is grouped yet. You clear it and then your team goes to baron and either gets caught or initiates there, despite that the enemy team hasn't even committed to attacking baron yet. By the time you hit the area near midlane tier 1, your team is dead or running.

There is nothing you can do. This is not ADC's fault.

But if the ADC is hanging around after that minion wave is cleared to shove more when the team is posturing for an engage, that's a bit more of a grey area. The team still shouldn't go in outnumbered, but you shouldn't give away an uncontested baron either.

I agree that it's better to let them get baron than get 3 kills + still get baron of course. My point is that sometimes it's the ADC's fault for not joining to contest an important objective that is more important than additional CS, and sometimes there's nothing he could have realistically done, and that it is important to distinguish these two cases.

I'm really not a fan of my team trying to siege tier 2 mid turret without tons of vision or a big lead either. The whole reason there are objectives in the middle of the map is to make opposing teams pay for camping if they don't contest them. A lot of "not 5" v 5's that I see are situations I just didn't anticipate we'd do, such as when we're behind ~1k gold, dragon is up in 2 minutes, and there are 0 enemy champs on the minimap. That is not the time to be blind pushing tier 2 turret, so it's a bit vexing when the team gets upset over not doing it (though in this situation it's best to point this out rather than stay silent and do nothing). However, an ADC going off to farm after winning a team engage when he could be taking that same tier 2 turret with his team while the enemy is 4 down should be viewed as a significant mistake.

It just depends on the context. I agree with the OP though that if there's a teamfight and you can reach it before the outcome is decided, regardless of your role you should help your team win.

Tank/initiator pro tip: Keep the enemy off your adc/apc and maybe we'd be able to join in fights.
