How to Properly Play Riven
I've noted that I've seen a lot of Riven lately, and it seems that people are picking Riven while having no real idea on how to play her. For anyone new to Riven, this is for you. I'm doing this to expose a little more detail as to what exactly makes Riven so strong. To be quite honest, this could go for any champion including Fiora and Nocturne or just any Bruiser who would use Tiamat/Hydra. However, to make Riven as strong as possible it's absolutely necessary to know how to cancel her animations.
Also, I'm hoping by spreading this knowledge around that Platinum/Diamond/Challenger smurphing players will be faced with people who are more knowledgeable of their use of tactics and not simply fall to their abuse.
Animation cancelling is the deliberate use of item or actives to weave spells together and auto attacks to cut cast/animation times. I'll be personally looking in depth into Riven because it seems that people just don't seem to understand how riven works.
Note: I know that Riot has not intended this feature, however, it is not a glitch to Riven as many champions are capable of this. I'm not spreading abuse, or encouraging other to abuse any faults within the game. Animation cancelling such as resetting attack counters is common in the League of Legends and there is no need to retract this information.
I've included a video for examples. Neither are my video, but I find it very interesting and would encourage people to hear the commentary more in this one than the next.

This second video is dated, but much of the animation canceling is still the same. I enjoyed this video because it was much simpler than the previous.

This next video goes into really great detail into making Riven seem as if she has a really high attack speed that normal by reducing cast times and constant clicking. The reason to get into the habit of constantly clicking is that certain champions, most notably ADC like Vayne or Kalista, can really thrive off of attacking and moving. For some champions this retracts from the overall attack speed, but if done immediately after item/spell casts it can actually reset the attack timer, possibly allowing a greater attack speed than before.

The idea is to combo your abilities, movement, and item actives into reducing cast times so that you can get the most damage out in a small amount of time. Practicing these moves will definitely propel you into pro-climb because the pro's all know about it already. In fact, I've known about this since my friend is the one who taught me a long time ago back in season 2. Little fixes here and there have been applied, but animation cancelling is still a real neat trick.
I hope that you guys have found this very educational and will help spread this knowledge to other Rivens inside you game who don't have a clue what they're doing. And also to help your friendly understand why trying to fight Riven at Level 2 when she has Broken Wings and Valor. Quite honestly, in practice terms, I find Riven to be the most rewarding and highest skilled champion in the game because she can outplay very well any champion. I really do enjoy Riven, and I just wish people would understand how Riven works before assuming that they can kill or play her in game. And if you don't have Arcade/BattleBunny/Championship Riven, you're already doing it wrong.
