Tired of seeing Vayne-Thresh-Yasuo in every game...

Like seriously. We get that Vayne is overpowered. And she is rightfully so. However, I can't find a champion who can 100-0 a real good (not pro) Vayne. Popularity has to factor into Vayne's winrate. Not everybody can be pro's, but c'mon Vayne is real easy. Vayne lacks a mechanic that requires any real amount of time, so she is really is overpowered by the standards of most ADC. She lacks a poke, but she makes up for it with being able to control her opponent and position herself.

Ideally, Tristana can do what Vayne does and could possibly outplay her. That's pretty much all it boils down to. Kalista can attempt to outplay Vayne but in a 1v1 situation in Jg, Vayne will win 99% of the time. Vayne, if fed, cannot be controlled and eventually becomes a ranged Tryndamere. You think you've killed her but suddenly she is gone, and she get's a good position and pushes you to the wall and gives it to you. I've seen a Vayne vs. Tryndamere, I can't believe Vayne wins 1v1 with him. The same fed Vayne can easily take out the APC, the Jg and the Tank in that order if she can remember to do it that way.

Yasuo is not so easy, and he's got a learning curve, but once you've got the hang of him the only way you can lose as Yasuo is not getting the hits off right or not using your Q scare properly. Another way to lose is if your team decided not to use any knockup champions. With Thresh and Vayne in every game, knock-ups aren't hard to find. Just use your unlimited E to Dance around, dodge APC abilities, and Close distances for your Q. I mean seriously, it's nearly impossible to trade with Yasuo and your only hope is to zone him out and hope that he doesn't realize that you're on cooldown 80% of the time. Some champions make mince meat out of Yasuo, like Azir and Heimer, but with a little intuition, they can both be outplayed. In fact, I looked up how to counter Yasuo, Champion vs. Yasuo, and I there were more suggestions suggesting the exact opposite.

Thresh is just too easy to use. Everybody knows his combo. He's like Blitzcrank, but with a Pull for allies. Blitzcrank is really popular, too, but he got his mobility nerfed big time. I have yet to see something as substantial as that done to Thresh. Dodging him really works, but Thresh can build tanky and still hurt? His passive late game begins to be pretty strong if Thresh has been on top of soul collecting. Soul collecting is a real nice reward, but I thought Riot was trying to move away from building health comfortably.

I look at Darius, and how people complained about the lack of counterplay to him. Well, he's fixed now. In a 1v1 situation with Vladimir, Darius stands absolutely no chance with Vlad. His delay on his Q, and inability to attack during makes him so difficult. Darius's real last leg is his crippling strike, which is about to recieve a major nerf as well.

I don't expect these changes to ever happen. I'm merely ranting that they're just in every game. ~120 champions, but I only see the same three. 106k Vayne games to the 1.7k Urgod games...

Update: 9/8 Project Release THE CRUELTY! VAYNE THRESH AND YASUO are on FREE WEEEK!! Usually, this happens before a champion gets hit with a nerf hammer. I see Soraka in the guillotine line as well as some other champs that have been widely criticized lately. I thought this was suppose to be rand0m?

Tired of seeing X, Y, Z in games?

Play draft and ban them.

Rand0mH3r0X2 votes

Usually, the bans are for AOE control champs like Amumu, Sejuani, and Katarina/Orianna. That ult combo alone wins the game.

Yasuo has situational AOE, Vayne like most ADC are never banned, and Thresh is a double edged sword, because the general rule is their thresh is the better thresh.

But any deviation is to replace the Yasuo-Vayne-Thresh comp.

That's something people call a "metagame"

Rand0mH3r0X1 votes

Meta is a grand design. Metatron is the grand designer. Metagame should me the grand design of the game. A grand design of the game is ADC+Sup bot, APC Mid, Bruiser Top, and Bruiser Jg. With some slight variability to that, there are a lot of options. A grand design isn't so grand if it only includes Vayne, Thresh, and Yasuo in every game...

Trynda with ghost + ignite + spin + bork active + 1 hit can "outplay" Vayne...

Rand0mH3r0X1 votes

But Vayne's Ult + Roll at a 45 degree angle, and Vayne can just push Trynd into a wall, force him to use his ultimate, and the use BofRK to slow him as she extends the play until she kills him. I've seen the one hit Trynd try to get Vayne. Vayne vs. Trynd comes down to skill level, and it really shouldn't...?

I wouldn't go into Vayne, if there is a wall near. Still Trynd can catch her, if he ults on time and uses bork+ spin + ghost. But she probably won't be alone and the support will CC + exhaust him. Thats why Trynd doesn't teamfight.

i don't agree that Vayne's easy to play. I've tried and at no point is it easy. her self peel is only realy useful when she ults. her short range (effective range, not auto attack range) always puts her in danger when she wants to contribute. her poor laning phase makes last hitting a nightmare. If i'm 10cs below the enemy adc by the time the laning phase ends i consider that a good job, and if i'm behind? It's not like she can waveclear very well. If kog maw or jinx gets behind they can just waveclear an unattended lane to get back. If vayne gets behind she has to perform will in team fights, while being behind in gold. I agree that the good vaynes are monsters to deal with, but getting good with her is not a cakewalk.

You have to use your teammates presence as safety. Don't poke unless your within 200-300 units of a friendly. Simply rolling is enough to get attention drawn to you and a free hit. Vayne works off stacks, and if the enemy tries to poke you, you just keep applying stacks. If they engage you, just use your teammates and either let them create the play or escape.

Although, you understand that not everyone who plays Vayne is winning and having success. A lot of people aren't exactly professionals, so that brings down the overall win-rate. Vayne mains usually tend to be toxic, selfish and non-cooperative in my experience as well, so without a team Vayne really can't win the game. A really good and fed Vayne can, even by verbal-abuse isolating herself from the team.

Vayne: Remove AD bonus from ult, or severely lower it at early ranks. Possibly nerf BORK. Boom, fixed.

Yasuo: Increase CD on ult, halve his ult knock up duration when he uses allied knock ups to ult. Again, a BORK nerf will also help. Boom, fixed.

Thresh: Remove or severely lower his E passive damage, remove his innate cooldown reduction when he lands a hook, allow enemies to destroy or grab lantern. Boom, fixed.

imagine if Blitz had the cooldown reduction for landing a grab...

I would cap his unlimited E to 2+level. It's the level 6 power spike that makes Yasuo so annoying because he's going to trade hard and activate all his on-hits. Being limited to only 2 E until he puts points into it would make his nuisance factor go way down.

Also reducing his Ranges by like 25% all across the board would really, really help.

Edit: OMG 7:32 I just saw the champion that poops on Yasuo. And it perfectly explains the "Better Nerf Irelia" thread I saw awhile ago.

ya.. im sick and tired of seeing those three, and remember how lee sin use to be so prevalent?

DogIsGod1 votes

Wait, what? I lost you at Yasuo being in every game. His play rate is 2.3x smaller than Vayne's.

Rand0mH3r0X2 votes

You see factors I see percentage. In NA, context of OP, Yasuo gets played about 35% less than Vayne. But Vayne overall sees a lot. Only Jinx (Hypercarry) and Tristana (Vayne essentially) are the only other two ADC who get picked for the avoidance of mirror-lane and ban compensation. Hell, Vayne's been so popular lately that Kalista has fallen out of the top 10 popular champions in the past month. League of ADC is quickly turning into League of Vayne.
