"bouncing" minion waves, help?

this is a common occurrence for me and i could use a little help with my wave management. So, often ill be winning lane and ready to take a turret. I take the turret, but now the few minions that were tanking it for me stack up with my next incoming minion wave, consequently piling up, outnumbering the enemy minions, and then pushing towards the enemy towers.

I heard this in an LCS game, to "bounce" the minion wave so that you are able to kill the turret and also have the enemy minions pushing back towards your turret, so you can possibly freeze and farm more safely.

any tips on how to do this? just thinking about it i guess would you let a wave of enemy minions and the enemy turret attack your minions? Rather than killing all enemy minions for gold and THEN taking the turret? help pls and thank you Teemo scouts honor

The way you "bounce" the minion wave is to control the damage you do to the turret so that you destroy the turret immediately after your last minion in your wave dies (and right before the turret would start to attack you.) This prevents two of your minion waves from stacking up on each other and continuing to push the wave away for you.

As an aside, doing this isn't a good idea for the vast majority of players. It's good in LCS because it's typically so controlled. In solo queue, you're better off pushing the wave as fast as possible and roam to take advantage of your lead. Teams are a lot more disorganized and are likely to be caught off guard when you rotate mid after winning a side lane. Easy kills and turret pressure.

If you freeze the lane, you're actually giving your opponent the chance to roam instead, and he'll likely take advantage of the same disorganization and make an impact even when behind.

I have seen this too. I think the idea is to attack your opponents minions but at a rate where they are dealing good damage to your minions and try to let the turret take down your wave to one minion or less if you can just one hit a turret. This way your opponent are losing the potential gold and xp without building a suoer farm for your opponent. I think lol
