TF or BorK - Which is better for a tanky Jax?

I'm trying to do damage relevant all game but I can't decide between the both of them. While I could get both, I'm trying to decide which is better to get first, build tanky, then get the next.

Honestly, it depends on the matchup. There are pros and cons for being them in differing orders. Although, I agree that you should build both before building tanky items.

The way I see it, if you need more sustain, go Bilgewater Cutlass first. If the enemy toplaner is a tank like SIon, Mundo, etc, finish BorK. Otherwise, I think you benefit more from finishing Trinity Force before BorK, even if it means building Cutlass before Phage/Sheen.

There isn't really a 'right' answer that will fit every game. Remember that the components of both items have their own individual mini-spikes. WIth Cutlass you get the all important active to stick to your target, with Sheen you get a much more powerful third-auto-W-Q-combo, and with Phage you get more tankiness with the move speed boost.

Thanks. So how does Armor pen and Magic Pen help in the itemization. Jax does mixed damage but never/hardly builds penetration. How is that efficient because either way i feel i lose out on damage.

Get hybrid pen marks and that's all you should really need. Jax wins sustained fights against tanky targets because he gets so many free stats + counterstrike. You build triforce against less tanky targets because it lets you burst them quickly with your counterstike stun combo.

If you're building tank items in between then TF will give you the most as a first buy. If you're building both subsequently then BotRK is probably a better first buy.

Bork, always get Bork first. It's one if your biggest power spikes other than reaching 6. Also, finish boots in between phage and sheen.

Ok. Still confused. Like I mentioned earlier, I can't build both (yet). So which is better?
