Why does no one complain about how imbalanced Chess is?

Instant one shot by the enemy champion, no wards, no skillshots. Plus, the enemy queen can teleport from base into the other team and nuke anyone while my king only moves like he got withered by Nasus + stepping on a teemo shroom.

Fix this pls.

Both teams have equal pieces. One team isn't playing the meta of getting to use more Queens.

Because a player controls all the pawns in Chess, while each player plays a pawn in League.

That's why the 1shot of the pawns is a much bigger problem in the latter, because it doesn't feel like you can do anything to prevent or remedy it; meanwhile in Chess a pawn loss is more akin to being forced to blow off a CD of whatever (a CC, an escape spell, Summoner's, whatever) so it's far from the end of the world.

Chess is not played enough for such outrage because they don't introduce new way of fucking over knights every year to keep the board fresh. Bad marketing If u ask me.

Unlike league, chess requires a brain. some that is unheard of for league players. :)

Well Chess doesn't have a piece called "Yasuo" which tries to 1v5.

Nea1049/13/2018, 12:00:24 AM7 votes

That's such a silly comparison :D Your 16 pieces aren't 16 different champions; it's more like, they are 16 parts of a whole. It's more like, they are your HP, skills and resistances.

So, nobody gets oneshotted ;) That's the check mate, of course it can happen before you run out of your pieces, but still doesn't happen in 0.4 second as in League S8.

Except when you see the one-shot coming six turns aheads, and you have time to prepare and formulate a counter strategy, that somehow feels a lot less shitty, doesn't it?

Also 100% board vision, who needs freaking wards lol.

However, there is an imbalance. Putting all possible "perfect matches" together, white wins 55% of the time by the virtue of first-move advantage. THAT'S some serious imbalance right there!

El Condor Pasa9/12/2018, 11:27:39 PM5 votes

There's no point in having wards when you already have full vision of the entire board.

people taking this thread seriously

DunkmasterDennis9/13/2018, 2:23:46 AM3 votes

cuz chess doesnt have metas or stupid patch notes

Janakin9/13/2018, 12:01:54 PM2 votes

No need for wards, there's a global vision. The game has no micro play, only macro.

Thilmer9/13/2018, 5:56:25 AM2 votes

Unironically, the white player has a little winrate advantage because of starting the game. That's the reason why professional chess consists on multiple games with each player using whites and blacks a few times.

Kinky Taliyah9/13/2018, 3:33:57 AM2 votes

Just switch to checkers, there you can have offmeta pieces if you want.

Xilixer9/13/2018, 7:11:56 PM1 votes

this is why i play checkers.

DJNoctis9/13/2018, 4:24:27 AM1 votes

Knights op. Plz nerf

iTaLenTZ9/13/2018, 9:40:14 AM1 votes

Bobby Fischer complained about it all the time and he was right. Chess as a game is pretty much dead nowadays. Everything has been theorized by supercomputers and people are playing out of memory instead of talent.

Seriously, I almost never see the player that gives up first blood just FF and afk in chess.
