Wait so what happens to the third player?

Last TFT game it took to the point there were only 3 players. And I played against same player 4 times in row until I lost as he had counter to my comp. That is RNG I know, but now I realize. What was the 3rd player doing the whole time? He had nobody to play against and there was just single round with dragon (from which I got no item again ofc). So what the hell?

one of the 3 players gets their comp duplicated every round if there is an odd number of player. for example :

player 1 vs player 2

player 2 vs player 1

player 3 vs ghost of player 1 or 2

or

player 1 vs player 3

player 3 vs player 1

player 2 vs ghost of player 1 or 3

or

player 2 vs player 3

player 3 vs player 2

player 1 vs ghost of player 2 or 3

if you fight the ghost team then you dont deal damage to anyone. you can only receive damage.

They explain this in the post talking about TFT. Odd players fight clones of one of the other players.
