Pretty tired of seeing Shapeshifters winning almost every game I'm in.

Don't know if its just me but whoever gets the Shyvana/Gnar/Shapeshifters comp wins the game. The hp they get, the damage they deal is pretty stupid IMO.

The issue is that shy does a bit to much base damage for haveing so much tankiness from shapeshifters+dragon, while gnar might be the single best piece in the game, with swain also beeing insane, giveing them 3 inherhently strong lategame units with A-sol as a strong addition aswell. At the same time, WW+Nida+Ahrie is a quite strong early, same with jayce, so the only weak spot they have is midgame till they finally get that gnar or get shy to lvl 2 with decent items.

For me the biggest deal about them is how insane gnar is, that abillity is just to damn strong. Sure, he can only use it once, but if that 1 use already wins the fight, who cares? The formation disruption that his shove causes is already incredilbe powerfull, but for some reason it also has 200/400 damage and 2SEC!!!! Stun. That's more damage and CC than Cho has, and he doesn't break the enemy formation. Most of the time, it's gnar ult into A-sol, and then shy eating the remains. If shy had a bit less damage and gnar would get half the CC duration and only 150/250/350 damage, shapeshifters would already be alot more balanced. He really doesn't need 2sec stun in adition to the shove.

That said, i still think ashe+braum with the right items is much worse and easily the most broken shit in TFT...

yeah, it's dumb. it's the only comp i ever lose to consistently. It's not like I lose to a comp and go "wow, that's really good!" it's literally just a shyv and ganr.

I've tried to play it several times but it seems so mind numblingly boring.

The only way I've ever beaten them is getting full Bruiser and praying I have the items to drop a item 3165 on Chogath but even then it just becomes a coinflip where you hope and pray he lands an ult on multiple people instead of aiming for and missing a single solitary target.

Shapeshifter is a disgusting comp on its own but if you're unfortunate enough to get enemies with crap like item 3083 item 3165 item 3026 on a Swain then you're just fucked beyond belief.

Their issue is that they were directly and indirectly buffed. They decreased the mana requirements for their transformation, but they also reworked the Demon trait, which used to hard counter them, now it's really soft, which works until the player activates the Dragon trait, because Demon build's damage source is from spells right now. It is possible to win against them. Swordbreaker and Hush are extremely good against them. Glacial is also good with a Lissandra, who can spam her spell like no end and of course Ashe.

IMO dragon is more broken than shapeshifter, but Shyvana can run both at once. Get items on her and if she's not full-time glacialed she probably wipes the whole team even at 2-star (since dragon makes her unburstable -- normally shapeshifters' biggest weakness is the chance of being blown up before they transform).

Only a few patches ago shapeshifters were crap because they almost always got blown up before they shifted, heck, Elise is still crap, you can just skip her.

IIRC she has nerfs coming next patch though.

I have beaten them a bunch, but have lost too many times in dumb ways. Honestly, the only real problem I have with it is how nuts the size of gnar's ult is. I had a monstrous gunslinger/blademaster comp with 2* jinx and 2*draven and a solid front line, and it got down to 2 of us at the end and we both had 50+ life left. We went so many rounds where each of us won by 1 or 2 units, but I was coming out ahead. I had a 3star Kass that I kept moving to counter his Gnar. If he could get his gnar protected he could win, but if gnar was too far back I killed the rest of his team too fast so he was in a tough spot. He started out killing me, but then once I got a couple things in place I won 3 in a row to put him down to 2 life, but I was low as well. The last round he put his gnar in a little too deep, and so it didn't pop right away and I started shredding his front line, but then gnar popped when he had still had a few units left, it landed almost 2/3s up the grid, and my draven was in the far bottom right corner, so I thought I had won, because he would pop my front line all off, and my draven would finish his Gnar, but when his gnar ult went off, it reached over half the screen and caught my Draven which wasn't anywhere near his animation or what should be a reasonable range. I had killed both his Swain and his Shyv, but the insane range of the Gnar ult did me in.

While Swain and SHyv can be annoying, the only beef I have is with the size of the Gnar ult. I think that shape shifter comp would still be solid, but not so insane if they jsut reduced the size of the gnar ult.
