Rewarding variety (player with rarest units)?! 🤨

If that statement was true the next examples wouldn't be possible, as in...

  • not 2, not 3, not even 4 but 5 players going for same comp (druid/woodland) - and yet... they all found enough units for a lvl 2 and lvl 3 upgrade...

https://imgur.com/a/n3J0QL3 (this is an album with 7 images - covering the board of 7 players from that game / i missed one while taking a screenshot - tho i don't think they were 6 druids/woodland)

  • on the other hand... there's games where only 1 player goes for a specific comp (coincidentally - the upcoming example is also Druid/Woodland) - while the other players don't have a single unit from this comp - and yet... NO DROPS (till stage 3 - 5 half my Woodland/Druid units were lvl 1... while in above screens/examples - there's 5 players going for same comp - and still managed to find enough units for lvl 2 and 3 upgrade).

Above BS got me so pissed that game - that i didn't even care about the outcome anymore (despite of being one of the luckiest games in terms of item drops - with 2 neeko). How can Riot call TFT competitive - when you can't even make a proper strategy based on the given details about the game?!

The RNG factor seems to stand out even more than before (last season used to be around 70% luck based - now it's close to 90%).

I wonder if each player has a personal pool of champions. Where the amount of them is unique to the player, but secretly influenced by a factor of appearance and rarity (in terms of champion price tier) for psudo-rarity. For example, there could be 24 druid champions (assuming max 9 of each). But only 5 max for purple and higher tier champions. However, every instance of a purple of higher champion being bought (or taken from the carousel) and sold adds one of that champion to the pool for a few others. The amount added likely caps at some lever per tier of champion, or maybe functions slightly differently based on champion tier.

This would explain why up to tier 3 (blue) champions are commonly got to 3 stars. Players are very likely to buy and sell under tier 4, sometimes even tier 4, but it is fairly unlikely. And why I have yet to see a tier 4 champion at 3 stars.

Yep, the system clearly - rewards variety...

Around a month latter and nothing changed for better:

https://i.imgur.com/hz1w2V0.png[] (5 people chose the Light comp - 3 went for Vayne and 2x found lvl 2 Vayne + another lvl 2 on bench while the 3rd has lvl 3 - that's all the Vayne units in game).

https://i.imgur.com/1jyIQyV.png[] (I was the only one who went for Light comp and the whole game was stuck with a lvl 1 Vayne / there was another guy with a lvl 1 Vayne but he finished 8th place and still couldn't find any after he left).

As can be seen in above screens, clearly... that part where a Riot official said they encourage diversity by rewarding the players who go for rarest comp - was a blunt lie. The current system proved to be pure RNG: 5 might chose the same comp - and all the available units could spam constantly, or... you might get stuck with a lvl 1 unit - while you're the only with that comp and only one left with that unit.
