@Riot, No BS. No sarcasm. Just a genuine thank you for making item drop changes for 9.14

While TFT has a lot of things that are genuinely frustrating to play against (Phantom/Glacial/Yordles >.>), the biggest and the most breaking part of this game by far, was the item RNG.

Yes, there is still going to be RNG. BUT, it simply means that there will no longer be a person who's just getting screwed over. Everyone will be getting at least one item per minion/monster round. Other might get two or three, but at the very least you'll have at least 4 items by the time you face your first player battle. (Carosel + 3 minion fights)

This will make the game that much less frustrating to play and certainly a bit more fun.

And why couldn't they just give the same amount of items to everyone? Don't start sucking dicks yet, we are not out of the unfair RNG advantage.

Yeah, that would be great.... but it doesn't work. AT ALL.... Just had a game where only two players got additional items from first round and one player actually got two. Item drops are still a total RNG game breaking mechanic.

I have this feeling that there is some inbuilt chance increase for losing players. I got like six items last game from raptors and I had 1 hitpoints (my memory might be off as I had some items laying there already, but it wasn't less than 4 items). Maybe I was just super lucky and you can get this many items anytime no matter if you are winning or not, but if more players noticed this there might be a bug and reason why some players gets screwed early. If there is some mechanic like this then it is very possible that the first rounds when everyone has 100 hp it treats some players as "winning" and some as "losing" therefore impacting their drop rates.

I'll try to lose the first minion round to see if there is any change.

Only gromp (replacing the last minion fight) and later guarantee item drops, so minimum is 2 items when you face players

Agreed. I don't mind if the items themselves are random from the waves, but you should have 4 (base) items by your first opponent (as you said 1 from carousel +3 minion waves). 2 (base) items should drop from Wolves/Krugs, and 3 (base) or 1 (completed) item(s) from Dragon. These items can be random, but the chance to get items themselves should be static.

I think it would be better if everyone got the same number of items (still random which item) when they defeat minions. Randomizing which items you get still leaves you with tons of choices over what to combine them with and which champ to put them on. When you go into battles against someone with twice as many items as you, it is just depressing.

With the champion RNG, you at least have partial control over it because you can collect champs, sell them back, pay for rerolls, or take an opportunity to switch strategy and collect a different champion. With items there is no control over the drop RNG so it just feels bad.

Glad to hear we'll be getting at least one item per item round.

Just finished 8th in a game because I had no items drop, ever, the entire match while other players had 5-6. I couldn't even beat monsters in the later item rounds for a chance to get more items because I also had bad luck at the champion slot machine, so no 2 stars. It was embarrassing.
