Seriously. The only people who were complaining about ARAM bans were people with ARAM accounts.

Why on earth would you remove literally THE BEST addition to ARAM you added? Ever?!

Legit the only thing that could have made this better was if you did the one thing that every single person has been begging for. To have all champions unlocked when you play ARAM.

Bans and all champions unlocked = perfect ARAM.

Yet for some reason you decided to remove it. Why!? Because of the folks that loved getting Veigar 10 times in a row were whining over it!?

I'm sorry, I hated playing vs ether Xerath, Fiddlesticks, Veigar and Lux every SINGLE game.

I play ARAM way more than I do any other mode and honestly I was just getting sick of seeing the same god tier champions over and over and over again. But then you added bans and I was in seventh heaven.

The very first match I played after the bans were removed? This was on the other team.

Seriously can you please stop catering to ARAM accounts? Ether you're going to actively try to shut down those kind of accounts or you're not. Removing banned champions is 100% catering to those accounts.

Strange...shouldn't there be enough negative feedbacks to an extent that riot would remove it?

Who in their right minds would say that this was a bad idea? Okay besides those who like playing champions that are broken in a tight ass corridor but still.

Only if they're a problem in China then they get nerfed. Remember that golden rule.

3TWarrior5 votes

they don't even follow that rule...vayne has 50% ban rate in china, as does yasuo

the win rate hasn't tripped any "alarms" though and that's all they seem to care about

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Because the way people (read: A small fraction of the people who actually play League) want those 5 handled is to nerf them to the point where their passive literally reads "you lose instantly if you even hover this champion in select"

3TWarrior3 votes

the blanket term is nerf, but the real term is "changed" so that they are not toxic to deal with

Riot promised months ago to fix vayne's ultimate to where it scales by rank...it would literally take a few minutes to implement that...yet it's not there and she continues to be the #1 pick and ban marksman

Yasuo has been toxic since his release and only gets worse as the years go by while breaking almost every "rule" that riot likes to enforce. His only counters counter him by default because his biggest strength (windwall) becomes useless

Zed, I disagree with. Almost every issue EVER with zed has been fixed with number tweaks so that he can not perma-sustain in lane while having insane kill pressure...now...not so much

Riven, I think the state of the game is just out of hand, but it's hard to argue against such high numbers, especially when it's difficult to tell what caused her sudden spike in win-rate

Zoe...an abomination

Vayne...why did they literally make the exact same mistake they made with akali...right after fixing akali...that's an interpretation of INSANITY!

I think the RNG Is still fucked. I own all champions, and I get those champions insanely frequently. There are some champions that I've gotten in 20-25% of the time (ignoring trades), where some I've seen once in the last 2000 lobbies.

The rng is absolutely not truly random. I've gotten Amumu 2 out of 3 rolls. Same with Kled. Same with Rek'Sai.

I certainly don't mind playing these champs (except Rek) but it would be nice to get some more considering that i own over 100 champs

Disulfiram4 votes

I've been saying this for a long time: it would be nice if the selection was a random shuffle instead of a random roll. It would preserve the randomness while also guarenteeing you'd get every champion you own as frequently as the others.

A way to add this would be to mark every time you get a champion, and have the random selection only happen from the pool of unmarked champions; when there are no unmarked champions left, remove every mark and start over.

SomeLink15 votes

I've had all champions unlocked for a few years at this point, and I mostly play aram. I am not a fan of bans in aram. If you want to counter ARAM only accounts with limited champion pools you either unlock the champion pool or set a minimum champion requirement. you also undo whatever preferential champion pool that riot has created for aram. Because I know I have played enough games to notice that even with all champions unlocked I get certain champions far more often than others.

I have all the champions and I think banning in ARAM goes against what ARAM is. I also think an ARAM account is a myth. The term ARAM account has been blown way out of proportion when you consider that ARAM picks from your champions, the weeks free champions and the prior weeks champions. You can collect the good champs and give yourself better odds but peoples freak outs are way over blown.

Chembaron Yamada25 votes

For ARAM to truly live up to its name, they should make all champions available this game mode, so it truly becomes random what you are going to get.

In this case, yes, I can agree that bans make no sense. However, ARAM accounts still are a thing, since it still heavily increases the chances to get specific ARAM-overpowered champions if you have nothing else on your account. Even with 2 previous rotations, if you have alot of champions with huge power in this game mode, then the chances are benefitting you compared to a situation with all champions available.

So, as long as they didn't change that, bans in ARAM should be a thing, IMO.

Wimbledofy2 votes

Aram doesn't need all champs available to "live up to it's name." Having more variables doesn't make something truly more random. It's either random or it isn't. It's called ARAM not BFEARAM (balanced for everyone all random all mid.) To make it more fair/balanced, then enabling all champions for all players would be fine. But either way it still lives up to its name, unless certain champs are weighted like other people have claimed.

Chembaron Yamada4 votes

This argument works in both directions then, tho.

Saying that we shouldn't get bans because "it goes against what ARAM is" would be wrong. Even if we ban champions, the selection is still random.

Wimbledofy1 votes

I made no argument for or against unlocking all champions for aram, nor did I make an argument for or against bans. My only point was that it is still ARAM as long as the randomness isn't weighted.

LordGeovanni1 votes

aram has always been weighted. in my experience it creates teams with 2-3 themes like long ranged poke stuns or slows at least 3 champions on each ' theme' per team and the themes rarely happen on both teams. if one team gets several poke champions the other team usually either has several skirmishers who get done in by poke or several engage tanks who can withstand initial poke and engage.

ARAM only accounts are NOT myths.

There are flat out people who legitimately have accounts that only have the best of the best champions to play on ARAM just so they'll consistently be able to use them. Just so they can always have a huge advantage. Bans normally helped against that. Now they're gone.

If you're playing vs god tier ARAM champions multiple times in a row, that is a not a coincidence. I can 100% bet everything and the farm, that if you're playing Pyke Varus Ziggs Sona MasterYi Lux more than two or three times in a row, it's not bad luck. You're playing vs ARAM accounts.

Us that play ARAM exclusively with a relatively high aram MMR see these aram accounts every game, especially at late night hours. they are also in groups of 3+ most of the times, and if you queue solo with 2k MMR you are almost guaranteed to see the enemy have 5 accounts all with higher levels that anyone on your team and 50-60lvls bellow you, but because of the lack of communication it is not easy to get ARAM wanderers to play the ARAM META way so you can carry them. The true art of the mode is to know when you can die and when you can't die, to know how much you need to invest in waveclear vs poking the enemy, to know how beneficial it is to split the enemy teams' deaths and make your own team's deaths all be together or in a way that the 5-man isn't split up, to know it's better to get 2 less kills this teamfight if it means 2 people will be at 15-20% next teamfight and with gold on them . Aram accounts and aram players know these things but people that don't play the mode much don't understand at all.

You left out the part where each of them have multiple accounts and will dodge any unfavorable team comp until they get a good one.

I do play ARAM exclusively unless one of the modes I like is active. I actually created an account where all I bought was ADCS because I like to play ADC in ARAM. I might get an ADC one out of 5 or 6 games. You can blow as much smoke up everyones asses as you people want but I have my experience that tells me that you people are blowing ARAM accounts way out of proportion. Basically unless you show me actual numbers that refutes my experiences I couldn't give 2 dumps about what is obviously an over exaggeration on a myth by people who just want to complain about something that don't really exist.

Saezio2 votes

If you actually want proof. Go check my ARAMs from before the event. Look at people's levels and picks over 20 games and you will see what I mean. I am not going to do all that so some stranger is convinced that aram accounts are a thing. I know they are, I face unranked 300lvl+ people with 100k mastery on karthus and lvl 5 for example. Again, this regards mainly 1800+ MMR accounts, at least in my region(dragfin12 ARAM MMR isn't even 1200 so unless you are talking about another account ofcourse you wont see them). And if you haven't seen 3-4 enemies with the same club tag that is named "ArAm" or whatever you clearly have name tags off or something. xD

I could claim ARAM bots are a myth because I have never seen one. But the truth is aram bots exist, they just have low as fuck ARAM mmr and I never face them

I'm sorry lil fella. You don't wish to show me numbers. Believe what you want. I have my own personal experiences testing this with my own "ARAM ACCOUNTS" and the numbers say it's BULLSHIT. I will believe my actual experiences over complainers about myths any day.

People believe that there is a higher power and I believe that to be a myth as well. Why argue about something when there is no actual proof but what people believe to be proof that is really circumstantial at best?

You believe there are ARAM accounts and I don't. No amount of arguing on your part is going to change my mind when I did my own testing. Please grasp that and have a nice day.

I think bans should be a thing, because it doesn't "kill the spirit of ARAM" because at the end of the day the champ you get is still random, just random from a smaller pool. I do also think all champions should be unlocked so it can actually be random. This is of course coming from someone who doesn't play and absolutely despises ARAM.

I have more than 11K ARAM Games played, and i own 105 Champions. Maybe i'm an "ARAM Account" to you, maybe it suits your narrative, But i definitely did not like having Bans in ARAM. to me it's a bandaid fix against the accounts you're talking about and that need a better name, you wanna get on equal footing ask for all champs unlock in ARAM and i will support you, you can add Ranked Aram too i'm down for it.

I feel the balance changes kneecaped most heavy pokers, and towards the end of the event, here in Europe bans shifted towards tanks and melee-assassins who abused the new items. And BTW, LB Kindred and Skarner are not the ultimate OP Comp which people make Aram Accounts for, i don't deny those exist like some others do on those boards but come on.

But just because we don't sprout multiple posts overnight to pat ourselves on the back for the removal of Bans, doesn't mean we don't exist. and i'd like to read the data Riot Gathered and based their decisions on before anything else, but that's just me apparently.

I'd have to agree with OP here - I don't have an ARAM exclusive account but recently the last year I've been introducing my wife to league through ARAM first to get her used to the huge champion pool, different abilities and combos that exist, so that when we eventually transition she'll have an easier time of it. I don't own only about 20-25 champs.

The ban system was a huge welcome addition IMO, the only thing they could have done to make it better was to unlock ALL champs in ARAM mode.

Only ones complaining are ARAM only accounts (lookin at you
