People place way too much faith in tier 1, 3 star units

I mean if you're naturally at 8 of them, go ahead and reroll for them, but any less and there are way better units that reach that at 2 star. Elise and Kha'zix might be the only ones worth getting to 3 star since more spiders and 100 extra ad is godly in assassin comps

It's just situational. I've won tons of games with Trist and gunslinger. I've also won tons of games with Vayne. She's pretty decent with attack speed items since she doesn't have to take time to ult. With that being said, I've also won some games without tier 1 units in my comp at all come late game, and without them being tier 3. It just depends on the game as each one is different. The other day I was getting spam pinged going into the first round of stage 3 for already having a tier 3 trist and a tier 3 warwick. I got asked how I got those and I said refresh ecks dee. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes it isn't.

With that being said, I've also seen people put way too much faith in economy. They sandbag early and invest late only to lose some rng rounds and, since they were low from losing early on purpose, they didn't have any safety net and get eliminated with 50+ gold. The skill in this game is just knowing how to adapt to each specific scenario. Sometimes that calls for early game with rolls for more tier 1's and sometimes it calls for a wait and see econ approach.

what about a 1 star to complete synergy?

agree with this, tho i disagree that kha is worth 3 staring he suck ass the later the game compared to say kasswin or tristana and normally sold for other assassins late game.

the only time i saw him being scary at 3 star was way to early 3 star and full items by wolfs, but hey any 1 cost will be that scary there lol.

ok, hard rerolling 20+g trying to get it and sacrificing income probably isnt a good payoff. however, if the cards DO happen to eventually give them (with whatever your econ/reroll strat is), i fully reject the notion that the cost of the cards does not equal the benefit of having them on the field. the health and damage increase is great to have. will it absolutely carry you? probably not, but it might believably be the difference between living from a spell or two or something like that. if they're a core unit for your comp, theres no reason to NOT buy them when they show up. that level 3 kassadin/darius/garen, even shit ass MORD, can tank a little longer and thats their JOB.

the only counter argument i can see, is about saving bench space while you try and influence the roll chances for higher things or denying enemies. but even then, thats not that significant, and you can always sell them to make bench space for a stronger unit that you're trying to level and still get full value.

again, compromising your income to try and force a 3star early is generally a bad strat, but i dont see any real reason to not buy the ones you need whenever they show up.
