How to get better with Yuumi? Here's how!
Stop being attached to someone 95% of the match time.

but its so comfy being safe from the outside world.

Safe, alone in you own little bubble, no one to bother you, no need to interact with the outside world. YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!
until zed comes by and pops your adc, and all of a sudden you're dropped right back into the cold, unforgiving reality of having to right click [sg-soraka]

lol so true

will help.
Allies: Exists
Yuumi: Its free real estate
She's shit when she's not attached. Only reason to be unattached is to bait skillshots in lane then w your ally to avoid it/ also to proc passive or to ward mid to late game. It should be like a 70/30 attached to unattached ratio.
Edit: unless you mean emotionally attached. In which case, yeah, to many nutjobs are emotionally attached to winning and will cry if anything doesn't go there way.
I'm sorry what?
Her q relies on being attached to do anything and its still beyond mediocre and if she attaches to a melee it is useless while in melee range because its going to instantly hit and not become empowered which is the only way for it to do again, mediocre damage but also only way for her to apply its slow also without being attached it is just a pretty slow skillshot, and again still needs 1 second of flight time to do anything decent which the damage is still reduced because she's not receiving bonus ap from her W passive.
Her passive relies on her being not attached to use it (just pop out when its up to regain mana) but she's legit the squishiest champion in game and has no reliable cc even as a 100% support champ.
Her W passive is probably the best thing about her kit, and relies on her being attached to make her and her partner do scaling damage.
Her E's healing relies on their health being low to do anything decent and only heals her attached person or herself if she's not attached, which again because she's not attached reduces the healing because shes not getting her W passive, the speed boost is nice tho. Also it only has 10% ap scaling, which is garbage and its still pretty much going to be less than Sona's healing which heals 2 people and shields them while Yuumi's only heals herself or attached.
Her Ulti is the only thing I don't really have problems with outside of her W, but again this is just about you claiming its best not to be attached whole game, which severely neuters her, pun intended.
Wanna get better with Yuumi? Play Sona, the better Yuumi, until they fix her outright, or you have a laning partner you can rely on. The only game I played her I went 6/6/18 over 32 minutes, only did 15k damage 3rd to bottom and only because both top laners were feeding hard so they were below me in damage.

Pretty sure these two are the reason why being attached 95% of the game is a bad idea. For some players its more like 100%. And also that W isn't doing as much damage to turrets as Yuumi + Spellthief and the adc both attacking. W mainly helps with crits or big abilities for getting more value than Yuumi's dps, when it comes to shoving Yuumi needs to detach and start autoing whether its creeps or tower. People aren't taking advantage of that.
But you're pretty much right that she's undertuned and needs buffs and you might as well play Sona.
or ditch your adc and attach to the best player on ur team and proceed to suck their **** for the rest of the game, hopefully u can help them carry ur team
Gotta bump that number up to 100%
Rather she is perceived as weak or actually weak doesn't really matter because people are losing interest in the champion. Happens when you release a support in this state. People are much more willing to learn carries really. She isnt even that fun to begin with.

To you. Personally, I find her more fun than any assassin.
Riot kinda brought this on themselves when the last "support" they released was this
asshole

Well a strong enchanter is a lot less worse then a strong assassin.
Thank god someone bothered to actually play her more than one game
This is bad advice ignore it, the only time you leave is to block a caitlyn ult or other blockable ability otherwise the mobile cat tower can suck it up and run faster.
I just noticed this guy hasn't played Yuumi at all and is trying to give advice. Hell he hasn't even played a game with Yuumi on either side. He has 0 clue what he is talking about.
Exactly!
You should be attached only about 90% of the time…
Only time to detach is:
Here's the real way to get better with Yuumi: Wait 1-2 years for adcs and junglers to learn how to assist her. Adcs right now will literally pull you away from even hitting Q's. Junglers will see you walking toward them, and will keep going! Craploads of wasted time/skills which really are not within your power to control.
And then the adc will post a whopping 8k damage per game while Yuumi posts 11k.
Just build as a bruiser with warmogs so when you are out of an ally you can tank damage while doing auto damage then hop back into an ally and heal back to full hp. ;)
