People Are Confusing Hype with Success In Regards To TFT

The hype for TFT is VERY high as most of us couldn't get onto the PBE to play it as it seemed to be streamer priority. Now that it is on live it is currently a ridiculously long default queue because it seems this wasn't prepared for properly in many ways.

The thing is, I see people like Travis Gafford for example patting Riot on the back saying "With the Success of K/DA and TFT", when this is very much so not a success as of yet. The item balance/rng is atrocious in its current state and most of the roster is still not there as the game is still in alpha and the queue is so bad people literally can't get in to play because:

"We're handling a lot of players right now. We have temporarily introduced a queue delay of 1 hour 30 minutes for Teamfight Tactics to preserve server stability." as of 12:40 est. I can't get on and wait that long to play at 12:40.

So yes, people are very hyped for this, but I think people need to stop calling this a successful launch and patting people on the back until everyone can play the game at the very least. My twitter feed is filled with people tagging and verbally high-fiving Riot members for this "successful launch", but hour and a half queue time is not what I would call successful. It's hype, hence the queue times, but as of now, this is not successful.

tl;dr

High queue times and lots of players = hype and curiosity and does not equal success. They are not one in the same. Don't start high fiving Riot for giving us a game mode people can't for the most part even play right now because of hour and 30 minute (as of this post) queue times that are continuing to increase.

Yes because the reality is it's a let down. Major balancing needs to be done before this will even be considered decent yet.

I played 2 games today. Was a ton of fun and IMO better than Auto Chess because I actually know League champs and their abilities. I was playing with nobles, imperials, seeing the synergies and the weapons on different champs. It was like learning league all over again and it was enjoyable, but also now unplayable with 90 minute queue times. Who honestly has time for that...
