TFT requires skill.
Yeah, true...
But that skill ceiling is like 2cm off the floor. 3cm at the most. Stop tooting your own horns.

Then reach challenger, it shouldnt be that hard if the skill ceiling is so close.
I'm not agreeing with the OP here but your logic is flawed.
If the skill ceiling is low, it would be a lot harder to reach challenger because challenger only has 300 spots while there are over 600,000 players on TFT. If the skill ceiling is low, that means that many players are at the skill ceiling. Let's say that Gold is the skill ceiling. That means that once you reach Gold, you are playing with others who are also at the apex of skill, the winner is whoever has the best luck with items/champs since you're all equally skilled. Challenger still only has 300 spots, so it means that a player would have to consistently get lucky over a lot of games in order to climb, especially if you gain only 40 LP per win and lose 80 per loss.
Then reach challenger, it shouldnt be that hard if the skill ceiling is so close.
Watch, here comes some excuse about how the game sucks so he can't and it's the game's fault and not his
Wait what, is Luck not a skill? My whole life is a lie...
