Dear Aram players across all servers...

I beg of you:

In champion select 1.) Do not dodge. If you do: you ruin others time. It is RANDOM for a reason. Grit your teeth and bear with champion you dislike. Play the game as it was meant for. 2.) If you get a champion you want to reroll, inform your teammates This isn't solo play. Don't be 110% asshole. It takes 3 seconds to write "rerolling" then ~5 more seconds for possible trades. You will not lose anything. 3.) Remember: OP champion =/= easy win. If you have no idea how to play some champions then don't trade for them just because lolking says it has best WIn ratios. Or at least inform us that you aren't the best.

In game 4.) Do not try to play ARAM solo. This isn't hero mode 1v5. 5.) Ping whenever you want to make some action. 6.) Do not steal relics. Remember 1 relic heals less than healing support who gets mana from it. Leave them the relic if they are low on mana. 7.) If your team has 1 tank, think how he must feel when he goes in and his teammates don't follow. It's most infuriating thing. 8.) I know some games are stressful and you just have to flame. I really feel you. Just suck it up for those 10-15 minutes. Mute him if you must. 9.) Objectives > kills. So what if you get feed, if you didn't even AA turret once. Kills won't win the game. Pushing objectives will. (In case: if your tank dives, then he might want to give you additional time to AA turret. If he doesn't say otherwise, then just smak the turret. You'll get kills later!) 10.) Once you get to Nexus, don't snipe spawning champions. Thats asshole-like behaviour. Just win the game. Don't prolong onesided fights just to feel cool for once.

in scoreboard 11.) Always report ragequitter or @chat flamer. Always. 12.) to write easy gg, or just gg after winning vs 5v4 is toxic. I do know it's sportsmanlike behaviour to praise enemy team for giving a good fight. But it's like throwing salt in open wound. It would be truly GG if it was even. Stay with well played (wp). It'll be less frustrating for them.

  1. Own all champs
  2. Never dodge shit comps
  3. Lose all day to cheaters who abuse the system

My only rules for ARAM.

I fully agree on the 'easy', never write that, ever. I strongly disagree on the 'gg'. I'll write gg after the game, regardless of if it's 4v5 or 5v4, win or lose, because it's just proper etiquette.

Pistasho12/15/2014, 7:53:26 PM9 votes

New punishment, if you dodge you lose your rerolls and get a fixed Shivana/Evelynn next game. Boom! no more dodges. (Shivana/Eve always free on ARAM? idk any bad aram champ will do the work) Also, being able to surrender at minute 10 that way you dont have to stand all the bm from the op enemy team.

Besides all of that, play for fun, if you are getting poked and your team can't do much just suicide to them and try your best; you will lose, but it would be fun and the game will end faster.

This is all true but you forgot the most important point!

  1. Stop creating ARAM only accounts with the most annoying champions in this mode !

Otherwise, good read!

I absolutely don't understand how saying "gg" is disrespectful. I do in no way feel insulted when someone says "gg" in a 4v5. I say it when I win 4v5s and have no idea I am somehow insulting someone. Getting mad at someone for saying something sportsmanlike makes no sense.

Jeddite12/15/2014, 3:35:47 PM5 votes

Dude, sorry you nerds don't understand statistics and love to conjure up false realities where "OMG I CANT WIN CUZ SMURFS".

(Also, did I quote you saying smurfs? No, I didn't. How about that butthurt, huh? Defensive much -- yeah you is)

Jeddite12/15/2014, 3:38:42 PM5 votes

You're the one nerd-raging, son. If you can't handle disagreement (and the previous two posts are a fairly good indicator that you cant), I wonder how you manage to exist on the internet without cutting yourself.

Jeddite12/15/2014, 3:30:26 PM4 votes

"HUR DUR DUR DUR I SEE SMURFS EVERY DAY"

No, you don't. What you see is the same champions. Just because somebody else rolled Caitlyn, Fiddlesticks, or Sona doesn't make that player a smurf.

I will never understand how saying GG at the end is toxic.... It's good sportsmanship I say it even if we get wrecked.

The only thing that actually bothers me is something that happens almost every single game. If you've already won the game don't sit there and ignore the nexus just to spawn kill your opponents. On many occasions I've literally had my own teammates mass ping me off the nexus just so they could kill the enemy team as they spawned..

The problem with some people who play ARAM is that they think that poke is a lot stronger than an initiate. One game, we had a full melee comp on our team, i think it was a malphite, irelia, voli, poppy, and someone else, while the other team had like 3 ranged champs and 2 other melee. We completely destroyed them because:

  1. We had such a strong initiate that they had no time for a counter attack.
  2. They would literally run if we even got close, but failed because of how sticky we were.
  3. ALL of us built tanky. (Seriously, if you're gonna go AP cho'gath, you'll get shit on).

I HATE when people complain that Galio can't do shit, or Skarner isn't viable in ARAM. Really? At least try them first. Skarner is actually really fun, especially if you have allies with speed boosts. But unless the other team has strong cc, then yeah, i don't know, keep trying?

But in all cases, FKN KILL SORAKA FIRST!!!

I always try to play the champ I get unless I know I'm REALLY bad at them, then I re-roll. I have 26 champs + the free ones each week, most of my champs I don't play, I really only play with 5 or 7 of them. So when I play ARAMS I hope to get one of the other champs I have, so long as its not one I'm SUPER bad with.

But the thing that makes me upset about games is when the teams wont feed the poros or work together to try to get the nexus. I like your rules too, I wish everyone could see this before playing an ARAM.

Cindikle12/15/2014, 9:54:37 PM2 votes

You forgot something: -Be prepared. When the game is loading, be aware if it's about to start, know what you're going to buy and get going. No reason the first 3 minutes should be a 3/4v5. If you let a poke heavy team with strong CC take control of the middle before minions even spawn you're going to have a hard early game. Even more so if you don't have a team with many ways to get vision in a bush with spells. Be aware of what you're facing and have a plan.

-Don't be afraid to try something different if it's for the team. Tank Sona is honestly a bigger pest than AP. ADC Karma is hilarious. Talk it over with your team first though. If you lack an AD, someone may have a better way(ADC Karma is amusing, but her AA animation is bad for attack speed). Sometimes your full AP/AD comp will do fine. This DOESN'T mean go start playing AP Nasus when your team lacks a tank and is full of AP's already.

Well said!

I used to get Garen all the time in ARAM. I just dealt with it. Got a triple kill in a 3v5 match once.

6.) Do not steal relics. Remember 1 relic heals less than healing support who gets mana from it. Leave them the relic if they are low on mana.

Just this and this world would be a better place.

well played is even more assholish, poker players use it extensively to insult a noob who only won cause of luck with only 2 outs

lol Katarina

Well the majority of these points apply to any map mode. Why choose ARAM in particular?

Most pick it to have fun and derp around.

Changes I would like to see:

  1. If dodging made you lose elo/MMR the same as a loss, dodgers would sink to the bottom and stay there.
  2. On reroll, place the abandoned champion(s) to the right of the player who rolled. Any player (including the roller) can click to swap their champion for that one. It opens up a lot of possibilities, removes frustration, and makes it easier in those moments where you get a champion you kind of like but aren't sure on, since if you roll one worse you can just trade it back.

Advice: 3) Speak. Don't stay silent in select. Communication is key, including organizing AD/AP/tank with your teammates on champs that can go multiple ways (like Malz). 4) Goes with multiple others on here. Communicate. 5) What an easy way to... COMMUNICATE! 6) If only you had communicated. 7) They say actions speak louder than words. As long as the team is nearby, a strong initiation should communicate his desire to force a fight. 8) Communicate respectfully. 9) Someone will usually communicate their interest in the objective when you get near. That means you, ranged AD. You have the safest range to tear it down. Let the tank chase and pressure the enemy away behind the thing. You just make sure it goes down, and as a bonus you can even spare your tank a few painful shots. 10) Nothing extra here. Don't be a dick. 11) Always. 12) I usually just say, "Sorry for AFK." and hand out some honor. It works.
