I'm sorry, but the amount of grinding needed to get these icons is unbelievable. I thought the Act II grinding was bad, but I've never had so many pointless matches until this stupid game mode. I just got done with a match where me and my team roflstomped. But it didn't do shit to my icon reward because I already won my two matches, and because the enemy team surrendered so quickly, I wasn't able to get any progress towards the level 3 upgrades. Never, ever do this crap again. The toxicity as a result of these "awards" is equal to that of Solo Queue.

You could just...not do it.

It's not like you're required to do it, all you're getting is an icon you probably won't use for more than a week anyway.

the point of the icons is you get something for simply playing. me and my friends got them just by enjoying ourselves, and then kept on playing black market cuz its a fun gamemode.

This grind is fucking stupid. 750 krakens and 15 level 3 upgrades is a shitload of stuff. especially since these games barely generate krakens unless you're snowballing.

I finally finished it and I was so happy it was over. What made it hard was the unbelievable amounts of trolls and afks I had to deal with.

Blind pick was the worse decision for this stupid game mode.

PA took a silly fun "training wheels" mode and made it toxic.

Bilgewater icons took an already toxic mode and made a literal Hell.

I dont see myself completing this last chapter. The amount of toxicity in this mode is horrendous and just trying to complete the challenges themselves are ridiculous.

It seems like every time an event like this happens, it attracts all the assholes and you cant get anything done in the match due to people only wanting to do what they want to do and have no concept of team work.

The thing is, grinding for icons would be fun if the game mode was actually fun. I would enjoy grinding to win 6 games on URF or One For All, but BMB is really effing similar to SR, but with annoying minions and more snowbally games. I just played a normal game where we won a 4v5. That can't happen in BMB because you would NEED to be in lane, pushing, to make a lane actually push towards your opponent. And having to clear out waves near your inhib turrets gets old fast.

The first 2 acts were easy, in the last one i had a bit of struggle.

Act 1 side. 25K aram gold = 2 games with 50 assist = 2 aram games with Total = 4 games
Act 2 side. 200 minions in aram = 3 games with 3 victoires in any mode (no customs) = 3 games with Total = 7 games
Act 3 side. 2 victories with the new items = 2 games with 6 victoires in the black market + 4 differents brawlers hired = [ Defeat], [ defeat],l[ defeat], [ defeat], [ defeat], [ victory], [ victory], [ victory], [ defeat], [ defeat], [ defeat], [ victory], [ defeat], [ defeat], [ victory], [ defeat], [ victory]. Total = 19 games.

I liked the Aram part -- everyone I got matched with and against all had a really good spirit about trying to get minions and things. Made the game a lot of fun and it only took a few matches.

I don't have the time with my full time job to sit there and play enough games to get 750 krakens and 15 level 3 upgrades. I just can't do it. Maybe if I had a month.

My biggest complaint is the 2 part achievement system where you need to do the first one completely before progressing the second. I got super unlucky at the win 2 games part and lost probably like 20 games in a row that were all dragged out long and NONE of those krakens counted.

I thought previous rewards were too easy to get but this one was just setup poorly to be really frustrating.

Yeah, a lot of work for icons I'll probably never use. I still have my icon from Shurima event and that's the one I prefer, I don't really need more icons, moreover icons that are kinda frustrating to get. While URF 2015 icon was dissapointment because of how easy it was to get it (play one URF game, wow), on the other hand these icons are dissapointment because of how frustrating it is to get them. It feels like doing some kind of chore, there's not really too much fun in getting those third icons.

This event proved to me why Riot cannot add achievements to their game.

If you set any goals for the player other than "win the game" it will have negative impacts on the overall player experience.

Sure, one guy might have fun throwing a won game over and over so he can collect more Kraken for his achievement, but it's probably ruining the game for the other 9 players.

It's not that much of a grind. Granted I don't have the icon yet. But I don't play when I have work. I mean people make like they should just give the icon away. You need to earn it. All you need to do is play the game. It's only difficult because you are making it out to be difficult. 750 coins shouldn't be that difficult especially if you are killing the enemy enough to make them surrender! You have so many options to get coins itself and it seems like you aren't taking advantage of that!

Yeah I hate how they made it blind draft, why not make it draft. This makes the amount of trols a little less. We had someone insta lack Yasuo assuming mid. Then we all picked lanes. Turns out it was Yasuo support who fed. Then I had to go Soraka mid.

Also act 1 was easy, 2 was a little harder, 3 is painful...

I mean, I thought the number of wins was a tad high, considering the length of most games (What was it, six wins? I think it was six. Took me a little time but I wouldn't call it grueling enough to complain about. I would've been much happier if it was just games played, because those new items are crazy on a few champs, which you just don't know at first.), but I wouldn't call six wins particularly grindy. Reward was kinda meh, I admit, but again, no one's obligated to do it. It's not even that amazing an icon or anything, if you don't want it, don't do it. Problem solved.

So, yeah, no one's making you do it, and the reward's stated up-front and clear. Put the time in, get the reward. Is it worth it to you? No? Then that's fine, go about your regular schedule and pass, there's always another event coming.
