Could ARAM get some tiny bit of attention from Riot?

I play almost only Aram (and co-op from time to time, never rankeds nor normal SR). I love Aram. I really do.

I couldn't find it but my score is somewhere 1250 won games (and far more lost). I know it's nowhere near beast score, nor my skills aren't faker-like.

And i am kind of tired. Smurfs, dodgers, toxicity of ARAM playerbase. All comes from Riots ignorance. I understand that you guys don't feel like attending to boring mode that was only usefull for winter skins sale. I also understand that you put almost every power you have in pro stage, SR, champion designs, balance and whatnot.

We, ARAM fans asked you kindly of some changes to ARAM mode. All we got was nothing in reponse. Rioter, Riotopti was our link between ARAM playerbase & Riot. He did his job so marvelously that after few pages of main ARAM thread some bots started to post links to viruses. He done nothing. Replied maybe 5-6 times to some threads in his whole job in ARAM section.

I don't know.. Maybe it was our fault for being overpossitive. Even higher echelons in Riot didn't reply what or why were we left alone. Most possibly we were minor sacrifice for greater good?

Anyways, what has been done cannot be undone. Riot, how about you'll bless us with your presence and show that you care about those few thousands of players? ARAM map & items could be worked on, but what we need as soon as possible are mechanisms to prevent smurfing & dodging game as easily as now.

You, random, Non-ARAM player, might say "why would ARAM had harsher punishemnts for dodging than normal/ranked games?" That's because ARAM relies on random aspect. In normal/ranked you choose champion. In ARAM you randomly get the champion. Dodging prevents having bad champion & increases chances in your favour. That's about dodging. I could find few more reasons to increase dodging penalty, but I believe 2 arguments i have stated are enough to do the job.

Second thing: Smurfing. It's an act where player creates alt account and buys champions that excel in ARAM. Ofcourse it takes time to get them, but in the end it is worth it. I for example have about 100 of champions. I really rarely get champion i really enjoy playing (Teemo, Varus, Zyra) and in most cases i get tanks or ad bruisers. Smurf on other hand having only 30 champions + 10 from week pool has by far superior chances to play champions he likes.

All of us can roll champions we don't like to play. Yes. But chances of rolling something usefull are pretty slim. I just don't believe normal players who never dodge should be punished for their loyalty.

Set of ideas that could help current situation: 1.) all champions free 2.) champion picks can overlap on other side (Nidalee on both sides) That might not help current situation much, but at least might lessen onesideness of some fights. 3.) random ban system where before we get champion, mechanism bans 6 random, most picked ARAM champions. Also wouldn't help much, but there's a chance you won't see Sona/Karma in each game 4.) faster surrender. 20 minutes are far too long. 10 or 15 will do 5.) You can disable 1 champion per 20 ovned in Summoner options after reaching 70 champions~~. 6.) Everyone gets visible number of game dodged win/loss/dodged. 7.) After dodging a serious big number of games account is banned for x days. Ban lenght gets twise as big after each few dodges. 8.) Revert back changes to identyfying dodgers. Whenever someone dodged the game you've seen who. Now it's just some info on "summoner.." 9.) and alot more of things to add.

Last part. This thread, as many others, is caused of accumulated stress and sadness. I've tried my best not to rant. Effects are rather weak. Sometimes i feel like players use some 3rd party program to see enemy team in champion select and thus they decide to dodge. I know it's silly.... Anyways I really expect mature conversation with you guys. Have you downvoted me? Sure tell me where you disagree & why. Show me some of your decency. It took me a while to write it. I know i should work hard to fix my english.

I logged in just to upvote this. Despite the English(as stated, still better than most), I agree with most of what you said. Some things need a change, some things will fix themselves with the correct changes elsewhere, and some things will never change, no matter what is done about them.

The things to focus on that we CAN change are these: 1.) all champions free 4.) faster surrender. 20 minutes are far too long. 10 or 15 will do

These things will go a long way to correct the largest two problems in ARAM: dodgers and one-sided games. There really isn't much to say that hasn't already been said, so I will move on.

It's nice, and wouldn't hurt per se, but there is some contradiction on how random the game is with it.

All this having been said, #1 and #4 have been asked for many times, and we have not ever been given a solid yes or no(to my knowledge). Truth is though, that we probably never will. Since ARAM can't be sustained in Riot's Esport buisiness, it's a low priority to them. The thing that gets me is that there are a number of Rioters who regularly play ARAM, and a little whisper in the right ears for some things that are so simple shouldn't be hard. Quite frankly, if I get nothing else, I'd like to see and end to smurfs with #1, although the surrender fix would be extremely helpful too.

I'm not sure how much your suggestions apart from 1. would help ARAM, but you're 100% right. Riot seems to care little about ANYTHING aside from Summoner's Rift. For the longest of times, Sona had a 70% ARAM win rate, and only recently was anything done to combat that. Nothing at all has been done to combat people playing ARAM-only accounts, who can get a reliable champion 80% of the time, removing the whole random aspect of the game mode.

It seems Riot just can't be asked to do anything if it doesn't involve SR.

Never will I ever not upvote complete randomization of champion select in the game mode All Random All Mid.

Your English is a lot better than most people on the internet... it's amazing how few people understand the function of a period and a line break.

The number of dodges and AFKs really is ridiculous some days. The worst part is that half the time people don't even try to communicate a trade even though people are typically very willing to make a swap in ARAM. A lot of people will even give up a champ they like and roll the one nobody wants to play.

Even if you don't get a trade, players are pretty forgiving of those that have champs they hate as well, and will help if you ask. It's a great sounding board for learning champs that you might suck at (cough cough Lulu cough)

I just don't understand why people aren't even willing to try and communicate before they just dodge out, and they really do need to be curbed. At least we aren't burning rerolls on the dodgers anymore.

I know Riot has said in the past that they're actually looking into the impact of making all champions available in ARAMs.

Whether something comes of this in the future, idk.
