The removal of fun and campy champions in recent time.

Now, for those of you who are brand new, or maybe even only a year old or so, League of Legends used to be a game filled to the brim with kind of ridiculous champions. I mean, there was a champion who's entire voice over was a giant reference to Arnold Schwarzenegger. But recently, those kinds of champions have been disappearing. And while champions like Sion and Gangplank have been magnificent reworks, I have seen many a complaint on how champions in the League don't really seem to be having fun with it anymore. And while I agree with that statement, I see it a different way. Yes, a lot of the "fun" is being sucked out of the characters' voices and the way they look and act. But it makes much more logical sense. In a world where destructive magic reigns supreme, murderous bandits and pirates loot and plunder their way through the seas and lands, and wars constantly ravage the entire continent, it would make sense that many of these characters would not be having fun. In fact it makes much more sense that they would be tired, or angry, or afraid of the future. But, that does not mean that characters who have fun and are not completely insane have to die out. There are characters like Jax, a legendary warrior who wields a lamppost and sees himself as the "Grandmaster of Arms." There are characters like Jayce who have fun with their lives, and even strive to make the world a better place to live in. The world of Valoran and Runeterra as a whole is a terrifying and mysterious one. The people of Valoran live in constant fear of being utterly annihilated by dark magics. And if the wars don't get you, a coming Harrowing or even the appearance of the escaping Void born would. But, even in times of darkness, there are always a few who will approach the coming darkness with a smile, and continue to live happy. So don't be upset over the loss of fun characters in League. I personally feel that it makes those who are fun and campy all the more rare and enjoyable to play, because there aren't over a hundred other champions who approach the world with the same mentality they do. Have fun with League, and enjoy yourself out there.

I approve of this point :D Nice to see a non complaining thread about serious characters.

Yeah I would agree. The setting over the years has become much more "serious business".

Yeah, this is a bit of an issue. I think it's started to let up a bit more lately, though. Bard is impossible to take seriously. Ekko has quite a few jokes (he's also a racist ass but ehhh), and Tahm, despite being an eternal demon obsessed with consuming, has a silly hat and a bunch of taunts where he just makes fun of people and talks about food. I could go on about why Tahm Kench is a great example of League balancing the comic and serious sides well, but I won't.

Sion's rework is so solid for me that I can't really complain about it. Really his only "joke" was "he sounds like Arnold." But it does, like you said, set a bit of a worrying trend. Gangplank's I'm less solid on. Don't get me wrong, I adore Gangplank. He was one of my first champs back in Season 1. And he is extremely fun to play now. But his voice clips are so...dull. So many GP lines follow the same formula: "I'll *DO BAD THING" to your BODY PART". They all start with a yell and go down to a growl. GP's new voice actor is Matthew Mercer, who is extremely talented and does a ton of game work, but his lines just give him little to work with. I find it especially weird coming right after Tahm Kench, who has so many clever jokes and bits of wordplay interspersed in his quotes.

Even Kindred is making jokes, the Grim Reapers of LoL. What are you complaning about? Gnar is completely fun champion in retard level. I don't think so LoL has in trouble about fun and enjoy.

"I shall bring... great suffering."

Well you heard from the Morde's mouth. No time for fun and games, only time to shred.

Probably the least fun champion is Lucian and you can't really blame him.
