Lissandra Update is amazing and here are the reasons...

  • She was kinda copy of Malzahar.

She was female Herald of the Watchers and counterpart pawn of Shurima. Malzahar already filled this space and we surely didn't need other brainwashed human kinda gifted with power by the watchers.

  • Watchers are more scarier than we originally know.

Before retcon, watchers were not timeless void beasts that are older than even universe itself. They are currently a lot scarier and bigger, they surely don't need any other Runeterran ally except Malzahar, which they already have countless voidborns and the Void itself beside them.

  • She, as a manipulator and plans within plans character, is even more complicated and hard to understand.

Which fits to her personality perfectly. If we could understand her goals and actions that easily in a bio, what is the fun? It is actually so satisfying to see people saying "I dont understand her". It is safe to assume it is what intended. She is complex and it is exactly what Riot wanted, we being confused.

  • She is now and strong and indepented woman.

As Freljordian women are dominant and Freljord is a region matriarchic, she being not a complete brainwashed slave of godlike beings, and being the one defeated them is so satisfying for her theme. Can you give a second and realize that she was the actual winner of war... Not iceborns, not watchers, but her. She tricked and manipulated everyone. Even the watchers. She is freaking cool af.

I know it is not exactly Lissandra we know and I can imagine why it is upsetting for some fans, but I still would suggest giving her new story a chance. I believe it will grow on you! It is not everything about her, just a fraction of her story. She is more than this, she is even more awesome. Maybe she is even an ally of Runeterra against the ultimate war.

She has never been brainwashed. She pledged herself to the Watchers willingly because she wanted that power and immortality, and she believed that there is no point to war with beings so powerful, better join them and build your career from here.

Malzahar never wanted power: he was burdened by his gift of foresight and sensitivty to the suffering of others. The Void used that to twist his mind into an idea that people will no longer suffer once they are one with the Void. So, Malzahar believes that he is doing a good thing.

As Freljordian women are dominant and Freljord is a region matriarchic, she being not a complete brainwashed slave of godlike beings, and being the one defeated them is so satisfying for her theme.

I don't see how it works. She made a deal with the Watchers to defeat the Void...Even though the Watchers are the ones behind the Void. So, in the end she seals the Void and the Watchers (???) along with her sisters in a Howling Abyss (however one may think that the Watchers would have the means to control Iceborn in case they disobey) and it's not clear if Lissandra figured out the Watchers being part of Void or not.

Also, it's not clear what she is going to do: gather an army to fight or rather to let Watchers wipe out the weak and ensure that she and her Iceborn survive.

It's a rather unnecessary way to make things complicated. Lissandra has always been a dangerous being, hiding behind masks and fooling everyone in Freljord, and a rather awesome villain.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH

Yes, so strong and independent she had to beg the Watchers for power and then cheat them of her end of the bargain, while constantly creating problems for herself and everyone else and sloppily hiding her fuck-ups instead of owning up to them. That's the epitome of strength!

And even funnier, it's literally stated that she herself realizes she hasn't won the war, but just delayed the inevitable tragedy that she called upon herself and the entire world.

she being not a complete brainwashed slave of godlike beings.

Sorry but, is that how you saw her before this?

They are currently a lot scarier and bigger

This has been said about Void over and over it starting to lose its meaning. after the "Unknowable power" i fail to see anything Void has to offer as more terrifying and mysterious.
