Next champion isn't a Bard, his name is Bard

The Wonder Above teaser shows 3 long gone factions in order of how they happened. Freljord and the Watchers. Shurima and the Ascended. Shadow Isles and the Ruined King. Bardish and Bard.

"There was a time, not long ago, when this constellation was absent from the night sky. Some call it the Mountain Shrines or the Great Caretaker. Those of us from the floating villages know of an older name, a name that speaks of a universal truth. The name we took for our kind: Bard"

People called him the Great Caretaker, but those from the floating villages knew of an older name, aka Bard which they also used to describe their people and possibly profession based on how he acted and talked.

Basically he was Bard, a great storyteller and caretaker, and then vanished. Thus the people he taught were probably referred to as "Bards" because they were basically him in terms of profession and abilities. Its not that different than "Smith" being many people's last names because they were Ironworkers.

Why would the champion's name also be the name of the people?

Why would they show 3 factions and then the Mask symbol for Bard if they weren't referring to a new "kind" or faction?

that actually makes sense to some extent(ok the name sounds kinda silly),but all 3 pictures tell about some kind of kingdom that fell at one point(ok the shadow isles rose in power through their fall,but it still counts to some extent)

I have a hard time believing that Bard is going to be this super nice and lovely person/god. It just seems too good to be true. The way they talk about the past fall of factions is a bit off putting.

I also doubt that he is going to be a heroic character,but I also doubt that he is evil. I could imagine him being neutral or having a rather weird sense of morale.

I understand that he represents the Bards, but you said his NAME is Bard. How could you possible get his name out of that information? It's impossible.

minor slip there. Some people call* IT* the Great Caretaker/the mountain shrines. They are referring to the constellation, not necessarily the champions name. and the constellations of factions past seem more like lessons to be learned rather than horrible foreshadowing

I think the people are still residents or were residents, of Ionia or Mt. Targon. However, im pretty sure he/she isn't named Bard. Bard is what the people mentioned in the text refer to the constellation as, and due to the constellation's meaning, they have taken that name to be the title of their people. I really think that they are a group of people who pass on stories and such like. They are people who know of the ancient past of Valoran. And i'd assume the champion is part of this group. Btw, I really hope he/she is not a support.

Meh, whatever the reasoning, I say "Bard" would be a stupid name. Though it wouldn't really surprise me; Riot has done this sort of thing before.

The Names of the champions are not translated, but the word "Bard" is translated in the other websites:

Example: http://lan.leagueoflegends.com/es/champion-preview/el-manto-cosmico it says "Bardo" not "Bard"

I really do hope it turns out to be Ao Shin, although I think it's highly unlikely as riot stated recently he's a long way off, anything is possible. Also, if you look at Ao Shin's original concept he looks old enough to have lived through the events of ancient Valoran, so he could be a great story teller. He looks very wise too, seems quite fitting.

Ao Shin was a ways off due to his Lore and Kit. They wanted both of those to cohesively fit together, so I really doubt that he's coming yet as he could have fully changed from what he was then to now.

I agree with you, I highly doubt it's him too. But it wouldn't be a stretch to theorise this is what he was turned into, they have the seasons in the teaser and the idea that the constellation returning to skies is him returning from being benched. The connections to ionia and the idea of the champ being the great caretaker make it seem like it could be Ao Shin.
