Great Void War

That's clearly a hint of devoloping Void Lore. What do you think?

I think this Void War happened in time of Shurima's gloriest days, and they were not alone to fight against them.

I also think World Runes definitely played a role, like creating the Giant Rift (I assume), or destroying the Rift (a rift somehow came true) or both (why not?).

I'm actually more excited about this hint than anything!

More Void love rito pls ty

I hope "Great Void War" is merely an appellation given by Runeterra's native inhabitants and that the event in question was not reflective of a conventional armed conflict. "War" implies a conscious effort from the parties involved, and I just do not like the idea of The Void being an organized force involved with trans-reality conquest.

What I always considered the greatest possibility of The Void's role in League's lore was a place that simply is, it has no explanation or greater purpose, it exists and by existing it warps everything around it. The Void could be an unconscious threat, an idiot conqueror that is only doing what comes naturally, and by virtue of its capabilities winning in spite of organized efforts to stop it. The Voidborn are the bio-engineered weapons of a war long gone, tools without a guiding hand doing what they were made to do, and a consequence of that is steamrolling entire realities. Therein lies the horror of all Void incursions; it isn't a war because the Voidborn aren't even trying.

If it must be a war, make it a War Against the Chtorr.

GUYS. I recently re-read the Mt. Targon lore's, and IN Diana's LORE, it says...

**"Its crumbling walls were painted in faded frescoes depicting warriors of silver and gold fighting back to back against an unending host of grotesque monsters as the sky rained comets of searing light."**This is basically saying that Diana saw paintings of loads of GROTESQUE MONSTERS (Voidlings/void monsters?) attacking Mt. Targon, with the Solari and Lunari working together (warriors of silver and gold), and the sky raining comets of searing light, which sounds alot like what Leona does at the end of her story to kill of the enemy warriors "She dropped to one knee and slammed her fist on the ground. And sunfire rained from the sky." . So i think this means that Mt. Targon was a part of the Great Void war and took part in preventing the end to Runeterra. AND WHATS EVEN MORE CREEPY is that even though the Solari and Lunari hate eachother, they were probably FORCED to work together to stop the Void invasion. What kind of unnerving power does the void really possess?

The Great Void war could have even begun there, as it was also mentioned that "fantastical occurrences may indicate where the veil separating Runeterra and the void has worn thin", the fantastical occurrences being all the weird lights and ghost city at Mt. Targon's summit, so it could be possible that there was a tear in the veil at Mt. Targon's summit that allowed the Void invasion to happen. Another thing is that the mysterious lights also bring other strange things, like radiant creatures and weird voices that whisper secrets to people and drive them mad "radiant creatures that kill at random and muttering voices that whisper unspeakable secrets to drive mortals mad." Maybe these voices are telling people secrets of the past, about the Great Void war, and the future of what's coming (another Void invasion), and it drives them mad because of the inevitable destruction and death it will bring, just like in the past with the Great Void war.

Additionally, In AurelionSol 's story, just when he's about to blow up the void portal with a frigging star, he senses something ancient and intelligent laughing at him from behind the portal, something INTELLIGENT... so maybe they have their own leaders for battle etc, and are waiting for another huge rip in the veil to invade? Also, Diana is also shown to be trying to seal the rips in the veil in her story "Night's Work", battling void creatures as she tries to aswell...

"A sudden drop in pressure. A raw charge to the air. Diana surged to her feet as the spaces between the stones split apart. The air buckled and a trio of screeching beasts charged her with ferocious speed...Their flesh was already darkening to a bruised purple, hissing in this world’s hostile atmosphere" (Purple skin is the colour of most void creatures e.g. khazix). So Diana is on a mission to basically restore damaged areas of the veil to prevent voidlings from entering, and to probably stop the tear from expanding to allow more voidlings in/an invasion, “This night’s work is done,” she said. “The way is sealed.”

AND FINALLY, THE LAST PIECE OF INFORMATION... I remember reading somewhere, maybe in Aurelion's story, that there have never been this many aspects together, in one place, i.e Diana , Leona and Pantheon .

So maybe something big is coming...

THANKS FOR READING, IM SO INTERESTING IN ALL OF THIS, and I think its almost all coming together with this recent lore about survivors from the Great Void war, into a BIG. AMAZING. VOID EVENT !!!!!

Seriously though, they just casually mention "Great Void War" & I'm just, "Uh, excuse me? Can we go back to that?"

They already had this Great Void War thing :P In one of the earlier lore, it is stated somewhere that the void beings were created as living weapons to combat some terrifying foe.

Probably connected to the event in which AurelionSol scortched a lot of Voidborn.

Its about time for a new void champ imo... Who was the last one we got rek'sai a little over 2 yrs ago???

Perhaps Malzahar was possessed by an Aspect like Leona, Diana and Pantheon. Only difference would be that it is an 'evil' Aspect. Maybe he- or it- always comes back when the stars are right to open Void portals.

Something stirring in Icathia...The War of The Three Sisters, Multiple Aspects on Runeterra supposted to signify a great change in the Universe, Demacia and Noxus preparing for yet another war, Shurima ressurected, The Shadow Isles and it's Harrowings growing more aggressive and widespread, The Watchers possibly returning, Galio's awakening, Ryze's quest to find all the World Runes, The Darkin's presence whose purpose is still unknown and Zaun's bio-weapons running rampant uncontrollably.. Not to mention Aurelion returning to Runeterra and with him, something from the Void that made him feel fear for the very first time.

Honestly, there is a reason this game was initially named "League of Legends:A Clash of Fates".

Except that the lore is frozen in time right before this clash.

They won't go through with this clash in the near future because it keeps up the hype and keeps the lore interesting i guess due to it being a massive cliffhanger. Reminds me of how HL2 ended.

Great Void War?

Wait what? Some Void related info was released?

I actually have a theory on Brand that could tie into this "Void War". Possibly.

Voidzilla4/4/2017, 12:47:09 AM1 votes

The narrative has been building up the Void quite a bit lately.

Shurima has its proximity with Icathia, Targon & Aurelion Sol have been aware of the Void for quite some time, Demacia has encountered Void predators, and now Ionia is connected in that part of it was a refugee site from this "Great Void War". As a fan of the outer dark realm, I'm pumped for what's in store for the Void and its effects on Runterra.

Chogath : "Your souls will feed the Void!" KogMaw : "Obey Void!" Malzahar : "Oblivion awaits!" Khazix : "Fear the Void." Velkoz : "My presence causes them...distress."

i can't wait for an update to vel'koz's story. we already knows he could care less about other void creatures and their agendas. i wonder if he runs into zilean or not.

From the sound of it, void creatures are living WMDs that got thrown into an extra-dimensional dumpster.

As it turns out, locking a bunch of sentient nukes in a dumpster kinda pisses them off.
