Why have bulky armor when you're meant to fly, heal, and become invincible?

So, quite a few people on here aren't too fond of Kayle's new design, which is fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, I'd like you to think of something:

Why would Kayle need heavy, bulky armor to hide who she is if she is an invincible, flying, healing seraphim?

People are comparing her to Sammie, but Sammie has armor for a reason. When you're fighting aliens with weapons that could likely cut clean through your body without any problem whatsoever, it makes sense that you would need something to protect yourself.

So, in this case, think of Kayle more like Superman, who hardly ever wears armor because he doesn't need it. The only time we really ever see him wear armor is to look more imposing than he already is.

Kayle not wearing a full knight's suit of armor makes sense because she doesn't need it when she can heal her own wounds, and become invincible.

Just some food for thought.

Unless kayle is permanently invincible, your argument doesn't really make much sense. The fact that she's partially armored, but completely neglects her entire midsection doesn't corroborate that she's unarmored because she's invincible either. Why wear any armor at all if that were the case?

Singed Why have a giant bottle of random poison in your back and a random shield if the only thing that you do is running around throwing people?

A lot of old champion designs make little sense, but that is the way they are, i cant imagine Singed without his giant bottle for example, the same goes for Kayle and her armor... Its something iconic of that champ.

Your argument is flawed. Good armor and well designed armor doesn’t need to be all that bulky.

kayle has a playrate of 0.40%.

People are just complaining cos kayle isnt exactly the same she used to be. Most of them probably never even play her.

Lmao.

Just complaining for the sake of complaining.

It's beyond me how people are complaining about kayle being sexualised as if she was naked when shes completely covered. So what if its a tight body suit??

Get over it. It's a game. Not real life. Not everything in a game needs to be realistic.

Squishies are supposed to look like squishies. SHe definitely fits the standard archangel archetype that exists. Elegant, yet functional and mostly LIGHT armor, not completey fullbody mails.

My reaction in a single word: meh My reaction to the boards so far: guys calm down, no need to have another aneurism.

She is a magical angellike being who is most likely one of the strongest champions in the games canon, so i really doubt that a bit of armor would really hinder her flying ability.

The more likely reason for this change(aside from "sex sells") is that she is likely not a very sturdy character and thus giving her light armor made more sense from a gameplay standpoint.

Why have armor at all then? Why bother with a helmet? Why not have her be naked & call it a day?

Heal and become invincible for some period of time. But then what ¿

As much as I admire you making this thread I fear that the a decent discussion about this is only to be had with great effort and hardship.

There is too much socio-political baggage surrounding the topic (representation of females and the associated aspects).

The fact that this post is downvoted partly proves my point as to how reasonable some people are.

Now I have food poisoning, thanks. Next time cook your post to at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 73 Celcius.

I don´t know, why would the angels and demons in Darksiders need heavy armor if they can fly?

Abibyama II2/18/2019, 11:35:06 PM1 votes

Yeah it makes more sense aerodynamically but still, just a bit more armor would suffice

Shitty food produced by bad thoughts.

I don't give a shit about what would be more "practical" for Kayle, even though your laughable opinion ignores that Kayle is not permanently invincible. I care that the core appeal of Kayle's design has been thrown in the garbage for mouth-breathing waifutards who can't get a girl IRL so need League to substitute one.

Definitely not heavy armor, however, armor can take many many shapes as we see it on her thighs and shoulders, she is supposed to be a homage of samus, a character who is completely ambiguous when wearing her suit but that's out of the window now, she's also supposed to embody righteousness to the point of restricting oneself's image in armor, it's not a matter of gameplay it's a matter of thematics, kayle showing the shape of her body makes no sense

GreenKnight2/18/2019, 11:18:48 PM1 votes

Yeaaah, why was she in full plate and now cosplays WoW character, if your arguments are correct?

Zapzya2/18/2019, 11:20:16 PM1 votes

Similarly, the armour probably doesn’t impede her since she’s so powerful. It does however help convey she stands for order and justice.
