Lore doesn't need to be tied to Champ Releases or Events, JUST DO YOUR OWN THING, NARRATIVE #mappls
It's been EIGHT MONTHS since the Great Retcon. And Riot continues to churn out content with zero follow-up, fails to update the now-obsolete lore, and ignore a swath of its fanbase.
The only time lore even pops up is when it's tied to champ releases. And even then, it's pitifully small.
There seems to be this painfully stupid attitude of -we'll wait when the time is right- mentality pervading through a lot of these comments. Whether it's quality or champ release timing I'm not sure but man, some lore is better than no lore.
Hell, you can do a BUNCH of nonconsequential stories on various champions. You know, just keep churning them out en masse. Stories that are really just snippets of their lives, kind of like a champ Slice of Life.
Instead, there's this desperate need to be COOL and EDGY.
Maybe it's Riot's corporate culture. That desperate need to tell other departments "Yo, look at this cool stuff I'm working on." So now everything's
y and gimmicky. It's like some kind of spectacle creep in real life.
Then there's the fact this Narrative Department can't get their crap together TO EVEN GIVE US A GODDAMN MAP AFTER EIGHT GODDAMN MONTHS. I MEAN - COME ON. WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR? The release of Carto, the Uppity Mapmaker?
WHO NEEDS A MAP?!
