What IS the League of Legends anymore?

I know the Institute of War got removed for either A) Summoners were too powerful or B) With the Old Lore in place all conflicts were resolved through the League of Legends meaning no conflict/story progression could happen. (although i dont know how much story progress we have made SINCE then)

But is the League of Legends still a thing, or is it just a game removed from the lore? Are there still summoners in Runeterra? Is it a gameshow with the contestants are celebrities and political figures?

The game and lore are completely separate now. the league doesn't exist.

It was removed because it took away the champions agency. I personally loved the original lore because it made lol stand out in a lore sense if id have to pick a moba now it wouldnt be lol.

Nothing in game is canon, the summoners are not a thing in runeterra, the league doesnt exist.

this is a dumb question but did they remove the lore and just separate everything into mini stories? I cant find any of the lore anymore

This is actually a good question. I remember back when the institute of war was a thing. i actually felt like my hero had a reason for fighting while in game. Now im just a space dragon god or a pseudo war demon killing( or getting killed by) magic rats, giant bugs and robots.

this world is all over the place tbh.
