What does make you interested in your favourite champion? (lore-wise)

Xerath

Besides his cool appearance and magical powers that let him able to use most of magic types, I really, really like his personality. Whatever it is old or current one, you must agree on something. He always been highly intelligent, power-hungry and ambitious. He did everything to get his purpose and make his dream come alive. He is vastly bound with freedom and power, even just because of this, his purposes overwhelm his emotions. He is the most ambitious character in lore. No one can get this title from him.

Ambitious characters are pretty interesting, even though I'm totally not like this. (lazy shit xd) May be that's why I also love Syndra too.

So what about you? What does draw your attention?

AurelionSol

While his mocking attitude and disillusion towards the creatures emerged by his own stars is mostly evident you can feel that he is rather caring towards the whole of creation. His hatred for beings that didn't care to destroy the hearts of creation just to have him as a pet and the contraddiction to his care for the universe and the will to "burn the whole cosmos to catch targon in the flames".

He is the definition of power without the corruption that afflicts most of beings that assurge to a level not even close to a fraction of his and the fact that he is well aware of that.

Jhin "They're gonna live, until they die." Easily best quote in the game.

Seriously (not like I wasn't being serious before), an artistic, meticulous serial killer that lives for the purpose of his art; he just carries himself like he's the fucking best and I freaking love it.

Leblanc Mainly. Also the likes of her in terms of dark or close to dark magic-ish kind of power to mysterious and evil appearance/aura/presence you name it. Morgana Syndra Elise Ahri Cassiopeia Lissandra Evelynn Annie

Leblanc LeBlanc is no doubt my favorite champion since release and I have been no doubt a huge Black Rose fanatic ever since.

I'm kind of following this guideline with characters which I initially gathered from Dota. There are the Strength, Agility, and Intelligence heroes. I LOVE those that go under the Intelligence which includes all kinds of mages/sorcerers one could ever imagine. From there, when I stumbled upon LeBlanc, I instantly fell in love with her and seeing as the Black Rose mainly consists of mages (I don't know if they still follow that rule), you can now see why my passion grew even more with the character and her background.

Can we also talk about her outfit? SO MAGE LIKE! That's a huge bonus for me, from the scepter, the cape, the headdress and in each skin of her, there's a different personality and it's pretty awesome.

I was also so into her old splash art way back, at first I wasn't really into the new splash because in the old one, there is a mirror reference that is so iconic where you can see the real her and in the new one it feels more like a mirror image.

She has tons of connection too which is nice, but I love that she is a powerful sorceress that can handle her own self.

So yeah I feel like I could talk about her for years. But that is basically why I love LeBlanc so much. :)

There are so many good reasons, I just figured out I like a LOT champions. Nautilus, Elise, LeBlanc, Jhin, Swain etc.

Even though, the champions that I pointed in above are more likely the evil ones (except Nautilus). Seems like I'm more interested in evil characters.

I usually go like this:

Neutral/grey > Evil/black > Good/white

Because neutral characters are more realistic, evil and good characters are one sided and make it pretty lame. But evil characters are more interesting than good characters, they generally have better background, purpose, reasons.

There are expections tho.

Sion Blood... is the wine of VICTORY! He's angry, very angry, and very savage and you feel every bit of it when you play him. He's the hero that wasn't let to die, he deserved his rest in death and yet his friend and general betrayed him out of need making him a monstrosity of violence in the war against Demacia. In the end, he was just a tool in a greater game. It doesn't matter if you are a hero, sometimes death is not where duty ends.

Lulu

  1. I love fantasy and folklore since I was a wee baby, so her thematics get me just right. And she's a yordle. I love yordles.

  2. She's incredibly cute, some gorgeus concepts and visuals there with the little kittycat witch. Awwww. And it makes her seem harmless to everyone while she isn't.

  3. Super strong in lore, for such a tiny girl - her magic probably goes right into reality warp is she tries hard enough. I think it's awesome, especially with the layer of imagination required for it to work.

  4. Her character is all about whims and freedom, and holding onto your inner child throghout life. It's about having tons of fun no matter what. She's very untamed and adheres to her own rules only. At the same time though, she's a super nice girl, which makes her less scary and more amusing and should really give you the idea to just let her do her thing.

As a person with quite the anxiety who lives in a very negative enviroment, I really wish I could be more like her and just focus on enjoying myself instead of being depressed, so I won't regret this time as wasted in later years.

  1. Her backstory, current situation and relationship with the world around her give a lot of interesting possibilities to develop and secrets to be revealed. Dayum.

Viktor Does what he believes is best for humanity and is willing to do anything to achieve that goal.

I prefer somewhat grounded characters; demi-gods, ascended, star-dragons, actual death, none of that really interests me. But some guy who faces these awesome powers with nothing but their grit and a sword (or a spear), now you've got my attention.

I also like characters that work for their power. Someone being born with some magic quirk is inherently less interesting than one who mastered something through time, sweat, and training.

Other than that, characters that have some sort of overwhelming drive or motivation I find pretty neat. Graves desire to kill TF was one I liked.

Teemo The little thing about the duel personality, you think he's just some innocent fool strolling in the woods, but you play him and you know he's a real killer, and the lore backs it up. There's this dark humor to Teemo.

Brutusness5/26/2016, 2:31:52 AM1 votes

Swain, because he's just this enigmatic figure who rose up from nothing to become the leader of one of the largest cultures on Runeterra. There's so much mystery with his relationship with Beatrice, and where he found her, and if she serves the Darkin, the Void, or something even more sinister. If there's one thing I'm really looking forward to in his update, it's more explanation of that.

Nautilus

  1. Symbolizes the terror and power of the deep ocean, which has always been a deep point of fascination and fear for me.
  2. A huge, monolithic guy who goes around stomping people. The stomping is particularly important.
  3. An honestly pretty sad character; left to die under the waves and now, with barely anything of his old self remaining and just pushes on in the hopes of doing himself justice. Also the cthulhu vibes are real here.
  4. He feels like he has impact. He actually looks and feels like a titanic monstrosity who looks down on the hapless humans and barely recognizes their feeble attempts to stop him.
  5. The story potential for him and my other favourite champion Nami just makes me giddy.

Speaking of which...

Nami

  1. Symbolizes the beauty and mystery of the oceans, which is like the reverse of Nautilus but still wholly powerful for me.
  2. She's beautiful while also seemingly very non human, which I like because I'm all about non human looking characters; those are the most interesting to me.
  3. I'm someone who really dislikes stories that have things like "destined heroes" and the like. Nami is not that. She's the hero because she rose to the occasion when no one else would. That really resonates with me.
  4. The idea of her venturing across all of Runeterra to find the moonstone just makes me think of hilarious and interesting storylines where some magic mermaid meets X in Runeterra.
  5. The story potential for her and Nautilus just makes me giddy. Whoa. De ja vu.

Nami and Nautilus share a place in my heart for my absolute favourite champion in the game, and I can't choose one of them over the other. It helps that they have aligning themes and also contrast each other heavily. They're so cool.

Let's see... Lulu, Zac, [Forecast]Janna, MonkeyKing ...

Bit short on good lore here... I just play them cuz they have amazingly fun personalities that make me have fun playing them no matter what.

I love Azir . He is a swaggy-ass emperor and he knows it, but what resonnate particularly with me is that he is someone who was given a second chance. Part of him is surely resenting himself for the fall of Shurima. I think part of the reason he appears so sure of himself is that he needs to be, if doesn't want to be utterly broke down. And well, it's a thing i understand.
