@Riot, you can't kill champions, then kill...

...side characters that you use in long-term. Characters like Rafel. I dont mean Rafel is necessary to die, but characters like Rafel. Create characters in lore that we don't have in game, make us love them, then use them for tragedy and realistic narrative.

You could easily use Setaka for 2v1 with Xerath. Nasus wants Setaka's help and then dies in a fight. But you just used her for 1 paragraph.

No one wants his/her champion dead in story and I agree. It wouldn't make sense game-wise either. But it makes it less realistic when only ones who die are non-important, 0 quote, generally weak af beings.

Use side characters. It would cause a little bit longer stories but I believe it would be worth.

He is called Rafen,not Rafel

Also they said that they can kill champions, there is just no point in killing a champion early, since that would be a waste of a character.

Close enough. xD It had been long time without reading Burning Tides for once again.

Yeah, may be they can. But they kill the champion, somehow bring him/her back from the dead and give a VGU. They can't totally remove the champion from story, I don't think so. At least I would be highly disappointed.

Well it was understandable that they did this with Gangplank, because otherwise Gangplank would have been dead before his story even began.

And it would be disappointing if certain champs don't die, because then there wouldn't be conclusions to certain story lines(if neither rengar or kha'zix die, then the story of neither one can progress in any meaningful way).

Also keep in mind that lore doesn't have to be chronological. Even if a champ dies in a story, there is nothing that prevents riot from simply making a story that plays before the death of said champion;)

They will probably start killing off champs when they start having too many champions and need to shorten the list. Personally if one champ should be killed off its Sivir. her gameplay, lore and concept aren't really that interesting in my opinion, and it would make a pretty cool plot twist in the shuriman lore

Setaka is dead though. She died millenia ago in a great battle.

That's what I'm talking about. Why would you descript death of an ascended so easily? Why didn't they use her as an ally for Nasus in battle between Xerath? Nasus wants help of Setaka, they fight with Xerath in 2v1, and Setaka dies. Not even Renekton and Nasus at their full potential couldn't defeat weaker Xerath. Xerath got stronger with centuries. He can even defeat Nasus and Renekton together with his current power level. He could kill Setaka. That would be better and they would have more to descript.

They used her how they needed to, not every character needs such an involved story. And, Nasus described her as having died long, long ago, even before Azir's lifetime. This means she was probably one of the more ancient ones. Plus, knowing she was an ascended gives depth to Sivri's weapon as well as hints at the power Sivir possesses since he states very few people can handle that weapon.

There is only one character with involved story, and it is Rafen. Others are pretty useless. So, it would make sense to show more detail on Setaka.
