League Of Stories: Project Idea
Hey Everyone, I wanted to announce this project before I get started on it. In essence, League of Stories is going to basically be me going through each faction and it's champions and just talking about them, what the community thinks of them (Not gameplay wise, just lore wise) and my own opinions on them. Before I begin though, I want to explain my purpose for doing this and my position on a few things.
League of Legends always stood out from the other mobas I could be playing, League actually cared about the lore, which basically canonized the games, the game mechanics, and the players themselves. Of course, I entered after they announced that the League was to be taken out of canon. I shrugged, mostly because I didn't care to much because I could see there reason's why.
I'm doing to this to start discussions on our favorite characters. I am going to start with Bindle City and then go in alphabetical order, with one exception. Now, If the champion has had it's lore reworked, like
, I will discus both versions and tell you my opinion on them. I'd also like to take about the major lore events around the area, like Burning Tides for Bildgewater.
It's important to remember that you are free to disagree with my opinions on the champions, which I am sure is going to happen. The important thing is that we do get to talk about it, and it will generate an exchange of opinions with our fellow players. I always found this kind of fun, and I'm sure you'll agree. I would like it to be civil but the internet is hard to control, as I am sure you know.
Now, let's talk about lore in general. Personally, I think that league at this point would work better as a setting. I say this because of something I noticed during Burning Tides, the fact that champions are immortal. We all knew Gangplank would return in some capacity. I thought he'd be a legacy character kind of thing, but then I thought about applying that to someone like
. I don't think that would be received very well, no matter how far you advance the story line.
Also I'd like to Bring to your attention the Lucian-Thresh paradox. Lucien wants to kill thresh, permanently. However, as they are both League Champions, both need to be "alive" in some capacity in order to be playable. So Lucian cannot kill thresh, and thresh cannot just add him into his collection because that lantern Is impossible to escape from (I'll discuss Lucian's wife's plans when we get to thresh.) and of course, both of them really have no choice than to fight, because that's Lucian's lore in a nutshell; he wants to kill thresh. They cannot kill each other unless the dev's are willing to perm delete one of them.
This, and other things, are stuff i'd like to talk about. So please post your thoughts about it down below and please tell me your thoughts. Thanks for reading.
