People who voted on the skin based on the images presented will be disappointed by the dulled down skin.

People who think the character should not have any sex appeal in any of their skins despite being one of the few champions who explicitly states they have taken many sexual partners and had help from a hentai artist for some of their concepting are still offended by the presence of sex appeal.

The appeal to both groups has been dulled. Each party is disappointed as they are forever stuck with a skin tainted by the demands of the other.

Yea this is very misleading by suddenly deciding to change the clothes of the skin which won the votes and turned it into another boring skin because of being slave to a vocal minority. Illaoi is already one of the least played characters ingame and that skin was going to at least make more people care somehow but now she will stay forgotten.

To be fair, they weren't voting for the clothes. They were voting for the skin itself. And those were early concepts and probably were going to change anyway. I doubt Riot cares that much about the people complaining, I think they were just making a design change.

Not an Illaoi main so I can't say much, but being sexual and "sexy" I think are two different things. I think Riot doesn't want to push sexy with Illaoi as it isn't true to her original design. The best example I can think of is the Venuses.

Champs like Ahri are the Venus de Milo, a depiction of a slender women with delicate features and pale skin to represent beauty.

Illaoi is more like the Venus of Willendorf, a large, round women made of dark stone that depicts fertility and life.

That's my thought anyway. Lastly I think emphasizing the organic features in a Battlecast skin line doesn't make sense at it sees to replace everything with machines.
