List of everything Wrong with Sona's lore
by everything wrong, i mean everything that either doesn't make sense anymore, or poorly detailed compared to recent lore updates
Here is a quick TLDR of what we can learn with Sona's current lore: Sona is a mute orphelin without ANY SINGLE memory of her true parents. Found on the doorstep of an adoptive house of Ionia with an ancient instrument (the etwahl) The ancient instrument always came back to Sona after being sold multiple time Later, she was adopted by Lestara Buvelle which made her going to Demacia
AND
Later again, she accidentally killed her adoptive mother with the etwahl and joined the league
Now multiple problems appear on different levels: -how is Sona able to live in Demacia ESPECIALLY after Lestara being killed by her? Demacia doesn't approve magic. Sona's current lore says that she can manipulate the feeling of people with her music now i understand that they can't realise magic is involved in it. But "In secret, she discovered a potent and deadly use for her etwahl, using its vibrations to slice objects from a distance." And she used this to kill Lestara, so how is anyone going to not notice what happened? Especially that after that Lestara died the etwahl suddenly acted like being enchented, the strings were shivering and tensing and Sona tried to control it (i can't see her trying to control it without magic) All of this doesn't make sense
-Sona joined the league The reason is quite simple and riot tried to explain it before https://i.gyazo.com/282bbd1145f066ac1e410fa7da9dc4a8.png She joined it to learn how to master her etwahl and control it perfectly. But here is the thing, the league no longer exists now. It's no longer canon along with the summoners She needs someone else to teach her how to control her etwahl, but who on earth is going to do that in demacia? i have no idea how riot is going to fixe this (if of course they ever give her a lore update) If summoners aren't canon, how can we explain her ability to use telepathy? as it was explained before by the league, now her lore doesn't say anything about telepathy "just remove her voice and add music quotes" no i don't think it's a good solution since we already have Bard. Sona's voice is also magnificiant, Riot should on the opposite update her lore
-How did Lestara manage to hear about the etwahl? Runeterra is quite big as we have an idea of how it is now, how did she learn about it while being in demacia? "When a wealthy Demacian woman named Lestara Buvelle learned of the instrument, she immediately embarked to Ionia" this is so incoherent, Sona is sitting in an unknown adoptive house and then miles away from ionia someone hears about her
-How did Sona get the etwahl? she was found on a doorstep of an adoptive house WITH the etwahl. Honestly this is just an evidence of how riot hated lores before and gave the most shallow explinations ever Considering how the etwahl only belongs to Sona and craves for her attention, i think it's quite important to explain how this connection happened in the firt place
-what about her former life? She has no memories of her life before, no memories of her parents (how is that possible in the first place? you can't forget your parents unless you were 3 years old or something, i personally remember my life when i was 5 years old) Considering that Ionia is a VERY messed up place(Noxian invasion, Jhin, Syndra and i pass the rest to win time) it's very idiotic to skip this part as a lot of thing could have happened
