Why the fuck was it removed on the NA servers as well and not just from those specific servers?

Because they are making it so that all their content is unified, which makes it easier to make any kind of updates or to fix anything that goes wrong

Global appeal, Somebody who changed servers would be defying laws in certain countries by having that content accessible. Additionally global players participating or watching tournies hosted in other countries would show content that isn't allowed. They just solve the issue by removing it entirely. Just like they just fixed the gentlemen cho'gath's smoke.

this is a fair point, but we are not a world community (as much as the media and others try to make it look like it). I personally do not agree with riots policy but i can see the logic of it.

Though i think you are looking over that riot games is owned 100% by Tencent. How much is out of their desires and principles?

I am going to make a prediction about video games in general. Just like in the 80s and early 90s, a boycott on for owned and produced good will happen at some point. When everyone starts realize that china owns way to much stuff and yet the american people are still giving their country money. But the debut would have to be serious conversation( that people want to actually solve) for that to happen.

I can see it happening. Generally speaking, that's pretty much communism, where the government owns the business, but in this current age I can see the US commiting to something similar, but not as extreme.

It's mostly the whole localization issue. Let's say you moved to germany, but purchased a transfer to NA servers where the cigar is allowed. I'm not saying Germany is against cigars, nor do I know what their laws are, but I'm using it as an example to fill in for another country. Let's say Germany banned cigar media, but somebody is using an NA account having graves with his cigar. This content would be penalized since it's introducing illegal media anybody can access into the country that prohibits it. While riot's defense would be "it's in our NA servers", the governments excuse would be "You allowed the content to be transfered over, and therefore lawsuit".

Now if you were unable to transfer to a different server, then I could see riot being allowed to localize content to specific regions, since it's more contained to a specific government's restrictions.

(I think turkey particularly was the reasoning for the restrictions, but again, not a lawyer so I don't know.)

I think we can all just leave it at this: It's just a cigar..

He is talking about any country not the people, you can not be xenophobic of a government. Unless you want to say governments are people to, cause then i have a nice white coat with really long sleeves for you.

Also most fascists countries are not rule by consent of the people, so you can not make the claim that the rules are the desires of the people that live there.

Looks like somebody forgot how to use grammar.

And to respond to your... response, I'm just saying the way he wrote that comment made it sound very prejudice against other countries with strict rules. If the game wants to be global, then the game has to respect the rules of other countries. Riot is trying to appeal the changes to everyone and they know it's a hard choice because they knew not everyone is going to agree with these variations.

What Sorgklaan commented made it sound like Riot should face the risk of getting sued or worse just to get Graves' fucking cigar back. Also the way he described other countries as "shitholes" makes it more evident that he either doesn't like how other countries' rules work or just hates those countries in general.
