Why the fuck was it removed on the NA servers as well and not just from those specific servers?

Because they are making it so that all their content is unified, which makes it easier to make any kind of updates or to fix anything that goes wrong
Global appeal, Somebody who changed servers would be defying laws in certain countries by having that content accessible. Additionally global players participating or watching tournies hosted in other countries would show content that isn't allowed. They just solve the issue by removing it entirely. Just like they just fixed the gentlemen cho'gath's smoke.
