Summoners
Riot, do you have a team that works on your website? Because its pretty straight forward you don't have a lore team anymore.

I agree it's kinda stupid. Riot may try to say that players of their game are still summoners, but really, within this game summoner has become just another word for gamer.
Summoners don't exist within the League of Legends anymore. Heck, the League of Legends doesn't exist within League of Legends anymore. What a crock.
Alongside the countless champions' quotes/lore directly referring to the existence of summoners and the god dam "Summoner's Rift".
Who thought that was a great idea to redo the entire lore?
Simple tweaks would be sufficient, and here I am still being fascinated over the Baron, Jax, Aatrox, High Councilor Reginald Ashram etc etc AND THE MORDE JOKE!!!.

We exist outside of the "meta" of LoL lore, but within the realm we reside we refer to ourselves as summoners. Why? Because it's cooler that way. It's not a retcon, it's a juxtaposition of canon and non-canon.
It's like Super Smash Brothers.
Well they say that ingame players are still going to be referred to as summoners,so this one actually still makes sense as the players who play the game league of legends(not the institute)are still referred as summoners and can still power up their champions with these things and I think the maps are still referred to as fields of justice.
Its a bit misleading,but technically not wrong.
