I get that she's mute, and the excuse that she's psychically connected to her summoner is no longer a thing, but I really dislike Bard and Rek'sai not having a coherent VO and would really dislike it happening to Sona too. It's probably gonna happen though, which sucks.
I'd expect her VO to be her thoughts or internal monologue. So while everyone else directly addresses other champs, she might think/say something like "I wish I could ask to pet it!" for a yordle, or something more judgy that no one would say out loud!
They could make a Stephen Hawking Sona skin, where she flies around on a wheelchair using text-to-speech.

Easy to change the lore that her music speaks for her. Many ways to give a psychic link through her music since she's mute and if they made her completely silent i would be completely outraged.
I feel like they might give her empathic abilities, which could possibly extend into telepathy and hence, a VO.
I hope she gets a soundtrack for every skin, a la DJ Sona. Just don't make them that great. For example the Christmas Sona skin can play silent night on a loop while pentakill has a short metal instrumental song.
