What if Retired Skins Came Back as Hextech Gem Skins?

Obviously there would be special borders and such identifying the originals (in fact Grey Warwick seems to already have a border loading in?).

What if retired skins were available as very rare hextech drops from chests that require gemstones to turn into permanents? It'd still make them rare and hard to get but give people a small chance at obtaining them. I think I've only seen Darius' gem skin once, Hextech Annie once, and I have yet to see Vayne's. They are still incredibly rare.

I for one think Grey Warwick is a gorgeous skin and would love to be able to use it, but I also think that if it is ever brought back there should be identifying marks and borders show who got it through recruit a friend originally and who got it through hextech.

like i don't care how they do it. The people crying for championship riven got what they wanted. So why can't i have riot squad singed?

if this is the best way then pls just do it.

i've only once seen vayne's and annie's twice, but i still remember the way the guy with riot squad singed played because it's so much cooler to me.

I only saw the Daruis gem skin once and was EXTREMELY LUCKY to see Grey Warwick in game in my team as well. It's a shame that it's a retire skin. Same for Medieval Twitch as I saw that one in ARAM.

I would also like PAX skins to be re-ealeased this way. They could legit just do the Riven thing, custom border and some special design on the skin that shows "I had this before it was cool hastag hipster" and then other folks still need to spend a valuable resource for it so it's still "Rare" to obtain!

But if they do this, i'd also like a slight bump in gem drop rates, as that would mean there would be like 10+ skins and thats over 100 gems. I've opened around 200 boxes so far and still only have 5 gems :/ (i blame my bad luck like i'm sure some folks bought like 25 chests and pulled 8 or something, but with so many skins Gem rate needs to keep up)
