I have heard a lot of speculation on this, and as it seems, Jarvan IV is dead after that battle against Swain, where you can see Leblanc face on his platechest. But is this actually true or not? Since JoJ is dead and you guys are changing all the lores direction, this champions lore though are still part of the old lore. Can you clarify this at least, before changing? Is j4 actually dead on the "old lore"?
The general consensus is that Leblanc captured J4, but he managed to escape after a while. She did impersonate him for a bit, and this most likely where they got his blood for Sion's ritual.
Riot said LB was never Jarvan and that we interpreted the hints incorrectly.
Thats probably just a bullshit lie they made up because Riot doesnt want to admit they dropped a huge plot-point when JoJ died.
So no. LeBlanc WAS taking his place, but Riot retconned that and is pretending Jarvan was never impersonated during the original story.
I think they used j4s blood to alter his memories(or control him for a certain time?) to stage the attack of j4 on swain. In the sion promo it is mentioned how they used the blood for a "charade"
I remember having always been pretty sure about LeBlanc impersonating Jarvan IV just once to stage the aggression to Swain as a way to rise tension in Kalamanda.
