The new Pentakill album is sounding pretty sick so far, but I'm hoping it doesn't have three instrumental tracks. They had an excuse on the first time because you might be able to say those are sung by Sona.
But now they gave her a voice, so they've got no reason to stuff filler into the new album.
That, and no decent band makes so many pure instrumental tracks.
I like instrumental tracks.
While I love our Karthus voice (and the mysterious female one as well), it is unfortunate that you think an instrumental track is "filler". The greatest composers of human history, those who not just were born with the most innate talent, but also devoted their entire lives to understand and master the art of making music, wrote, for the most part, instrumental "tracks".
Because, while voice can add a good harmony between the two arts of music and poetry, the first never needed the latter to express the most abstract beauty and touch the human soul with it. In fact cause the opposite effect. A constant exposure of radio with popular music, full of easy listening songs that are basically different lyrics over the same 4 chord progressions, has made people unable to appreciate the storytelling capabilities of music itself. We are only able to "get" through the music if we are guided with a leash called lyrics, when it's not about getting, but being mind blown.
Luckily, you don't even have to go to piano concertos by Mozart or Rachmaninoff, or even Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ludovico Einaudi, Rush, Metallica, Dream Theater, even here at Riot, the login screen themes of the champions or skins are completely independent and perfect pieces of music. In Pentakill, I'm happy to have worked with a team of people that aren't just the greatest metalheads, but value the art of pure music as it deserves. I couldn't be more excited to see Pentakill releasing Ohmwrecker back then, and I'm very happy to see the project as stronghold and bastion of good music appreciation in our culture ;)
The instrumental tracks are quite fillery.
