Why Do Champions Look So Different From Their Portraits?
A bunch of champions look very different from their portraits, Kog'Maw being having one of the biggest divides.

The splash art generally tries to make the champion as good looking as possible.
However many older champs still have rather outdated models,which means that there is a limit to how similar the splash art can look to the ingame champion.
Though sometimes there are still some small differences(like the different amount of kindred fingers,which either was because the artist of the splash wasn't aware how many finger kindred has,or because the model was changed after the splash was already finished)
