But this was really disappointing to see. I'm fine with not getting the skins I want. I'm fine with the skins I DO want going to champs I don't play, but my god is the routine getting old of the usual suspects gets new skins.

If you're going to have favorites, why not just delete other champs?

This is Ahri's 9th skin This is Ezreal's 11th skin This is Syndra's 6th skin - I'm not too upset by this one This is Soraka's 8th skin This is MF's 11th skin

I hate to think "this is all about money" but if you keep dumping money into the champs that make you money, then people will only play the same old champs. I'm just frustrated with the decision making on these new skin lines.

MF is one of the originals, of course she has a lot of skins. Most of hers are just costume changes, low RP/legacy price skins.

Because yorick quickly got onto Riots "to update"-list and they neglected that list for far too long.

His rework made it possible for him to get skins again and he is already confirmed to have a skin in the works(also yorick was released during season1,wheras Miss fortune was already out before the first season)

A minority actually like the new SG skins, the old team (lux, poppy,jinx,lulu,janna) was and is so much better. I would be fine with these new SG skin if they weren't so half ass and so bland compared the original team. The only skin worth buying is Soraka's tbh, at least it was made well.

And Ahri getting the legendary skin over Soraka, "The Star Child", is a slap in the face.

This is why I feel Champions shouldn't have titles. It's the same shit reason the community force fed Diana a Blood Moon skin. "She's the scorn of the MOON. OF COURSE IT MAKES SENSE" Can't wait for blood moon Vlad. "He's a BLOOD MAGE?!"

How is it force feeding? Diana NOT having a blood moon skin would be ludicrous, of course they were gonna give her one. Even her abilities reference the moon, "Moonfall" "Lunar Rush" "Moon Silver Blade".

And? That's like Saying blitzcrank should have a mecha and a battlecast skin. "He's a ROBOT, it makes SENSE."

And it was force feeding- they waited many years to do that for her. Even when it came out, every Diana main complained that it wasn't legendary. "It's her THEME!" They complained, even though they trashed the old lore for the skin just so Diana could have a place in it.

I don't know why you're taking into account their classic skins. Ezreals has 4 skins that were released on 2010 and almost all of his skins are recolors or costume change. Also, Riot already announced that they're doing skins for champions that haven't got one in a while, I don't really see the point on putting the blame on a single skin line. Personally I like this skin line (I think all of them would have made a good legendary skin).

While old skins may be objectively low quality, and not much beyond a chroma (BTW, Ahri, Ez, and MF also have skin chromas) there are champions LONG abandoned by the skin dev teams, stuck with one or two launch skins in some cases while favored children are in the double digits. The fact some quality is debatable is moot, the point is how many options exist already for them.

Oh man, can't wait to pick between blue hoodie Ezreal and green hoodie Ezreal. Oh, what about that one Card one that's part of the most forgettable skin line ever? Anyone even remember those skins?

Oh hey how about I buy Soraka's best skin... oh wait, Reaper Soraka isn't available. Guess I'm stuck with Green Soraka or Dress Soraka.

I can't wait for all these "neglected" Champions to get skins so everyone can stop complaining about every single skin that comes out and talking about how poor Viktor or poor Swain or whoever. People liking a skin or skin theme on a certain Champion should be all that matters. They shouldn't have to break out "the list" and talk about how that makes these skins a bad idea who cares if you actually like it it doesn't matter if it's not a skin for a Champion on "the list".

So you still don't understand. You may not like some skins or think a champs "best"is also a limited availability skin. That doesn't change the simple fact these champs DO have at least a handful of options to choose from. Compared to champs with just two, maybe three.

And frankly, I think the entirety of the Star Guardian lines is boring junk, so it's a double insult to the neglected to be passed over for some love for a crap line for popular champs with lots of skins. Giving attention only to the most popular and ignoring loyal fans of other champs is just awful.

I'd rather a Champion have two or three fantastic, fitting skins than 9 recolors. I think a lot of people would agree with me. When your choice of skins is between ten mediocre skins and one or two actually good skins, it's not really much of a choice. Even worse if you don't like the theme of the good skin.

And second, Cass already has a new skin on PBE right now, so it's not as if they can't do both.

Put it this way: Skarner used to be one of those Champions who hadn't gotten a skin since release. Then he got Battlecast and hasn't gotten one since. But people haven't complained about it hardly at all. Why? I'm sure it's a few reasons, but I think one is that Skarner players were very satisfied with the quality and theme of the skin. It's his clear best skin and one of the better ones in the game. It's a skin you don't mind playing every game. Wouldn't these dedicated mains of Yorick and company rather wait and receive that kind of skin instead of Riot just spitting one out because "they need a skin, they haven't gotten one in a while"?

You raise a fair point about quality being better than quantity. A well done skin will satisfy better than a slapdash one, with perhaps the exception of some players with less free money preferring to have a most cost effective option than a very pricey ultimate skin.

That said, if a champion hasn't been graced with either quantity or quality, but other champions have had one or the other OR both...it is quite grating.

You raise a good point that not only have they rolled out a trio of Arcade skins, the upcoming Star Guardian line, and have a skin coming finally for Cass. This however begs the question of if so many skins are being prepped for release why are there champs waiting 3 to 5 years for one skin when some champs are getting skins every 12 to 18 months?

While I appreciate the artistic process isn't always simple, it should not be so bad for so many people with game, graphic, and art degrees to come up with one good design within a three year span for a given character.

Yeah I agree it's a bit silly it has taken so long. But I appreciate every quality, awesome skin we get no matter who gets it. Supposedly Riot is working on getting all those neglected Champions skins, and while Cass is a good start, we shall see. I'm sure Swain will be waiting for quite some time thanks to his upcoming rework.

I hate the star guardian line. I was fine with the first group they were alright the Jinx skin is the only good one in the line. They just need to stop making these skins or at the very least don't put the same champions in the same skins Taric deserves a SG skin much more than Ez or Arhi he legit talks about the stars all the time and is the protector of the world. Soraka deserved the legendary more than Arhi (The way they made Arhi's legendary skin makes me hate that champ even more her personality and voice lines make me cringe).

Aww man I agree with you, Taric would have been better and I main Soraka as Support so I am in the camp of "she should have gotten the legendary" IMO, Syndra should have been Dark star if they also didn't want to give her Legendary.

The issue with giving Syndra a Dark Star skin is simply that it would look too much like classic Syndra.

What could you do with the skin that wouldn't make it just look like a slightly darker purple Syndra? There are many other skin themes that can change her up a lot more.

I don't hate the line, but I don't think another group was needed.

And personally I would have preferred they stayed with teenage/kid champions rather than doing Star Guardian veterans.

Ezreal, MF and Soraka have been in the game since the beginning. They are going to have a lot of skins. Most of their skins are legacy and/or crummy recolors. All of Ezreal's skins suck, he's got the crappiest Ultimate skin that's worse than most 1350 skins, he's got Arcade, which I personally don't really like, Debonair is ok and the rest are recolors. Star Guardian might be his best skin. Soraka has similar issues: her best skin is Reaper, and it's not available year round. Plus it's a fantasy and style not every Raka player will enjoy.

I'll grant you Ahri on this point. She suits the skin line fine but I would have much rather seen Syndra get the Legendary skin. She could have been a cool take on a "fallen Magical Girl".

I personally am a fan of the skin line, so these are some of my favorite skins for each respective Champion. To each their own, though.

Your feelings about artistic quality are largely irrelevant because there are too many champs sitting on 1-3 skins STILL mostly just with launch options for 1000-2000 days without any love from the skin teams. Meanwhile, the Star Guardian backup crew, Pentakayle, RePaxed Sivir, and NOW Championship Ashe add even more options for oversaturated champs while faithful mains of others are left to weep.

So you're saying that if a Champion has a bunch of terrible skins, it doesn't matter because other Champions need just as many skins? Ashe is yet another example of a Champion who has been here since the beginning and has a lot of low quality skins. But that doesn't matter, because having 8 recolors and her one Legendary means she's disqualified from receiving skins, no matter how fitting a skin theme is for her. That's preposterous.

It hardly even matters, because Riot obviously wanted to do a Star Guardian event and most of the Champions who have been waiting on skins don't suit the theme at all. And to just give a Champion any ole skin theme just to finally get them a skin doesn't work either, because if that theme is something the players of the Champion wouldn't enjoy, then has Riot really succeeded in giving people what they want? I would argue no, because the new skin doesn't suit the Champion, it doesn't fully satisfy the majority of players and it ultimately results in wasted work better spent on a Champion that suits the theme better or a different theme for that Champion.

Take a look at Eternum Cassiopeia on PBE for an example. Cass is finally getting a skin, which is great, but a lot of Cass players (on Boards at least) are complaining about the choice of skin theme. They were expecting something different for Cassiopeia. People telling them "they should be grateful" are missing the point. Riot is marketing to a very specific audience: Cass players. If they don't market to them properly, then who is the product(the skin) good for?

Call me crazy, but I think Illaoi, Viktor and Yorick are terrible choices for Star Guardian. And it may be that Riot should not have focused so much on this skin line but the fact of the matter is there are reasons for giving these specific Champions skins instead of others. I'd rather Riot pick the right skin theme and really deliver for fans of that Champion than to just put something out and disappoint people. I'm sure Riot could make some Chromas for Pentakill Yorick or a quick 720 skin for Illaoi, but will that really satisfy players? I'm thinking no. Better to just be patient and not complain about every skin that comes out that isn't one of the needy Champions.
