I thought Demacia has a thing against magic, and Sona's abilities are very clearly magic.
Then again, Sona has one of the vaguest lores in the game anyway. She has no known friends or connections to anybody from anywhere.
Personally, I wonder if she'd fit in more in Ionia. Maybe move her there if/when they get around to Ionian lore.

RosaElia3 votesSona feels more Ionian than Demacian in my opinion. Her abilities are all magical and even her splash art is in Ionia, so I think She associates more with Ionia than with Demacia.

GinoSoldier3 votesSona will be kept as an adopted Demacian, most likely. The woman who adopted Sona, in the old lore Lestara Buvelle, is present in Quinn's story, and if i remember correctly, is confirmed to have lost every other member of her family.
Also, if they play their cards well, Sona can be showcased as the Demacian counterpart to the Noxian showman that is Draven.
Sona MAY appear/sound nice and cute, but nothing in her lore, voiceover, old bio or champion judgement supports that idea. If you look at what little we see from her known actions, she plays for sold out audiences, she doesn't spend time interacting with commoners. She joined the league to help herself master her ability to harm/kill people through music.
As for Demacia being anti-magic, well, her magic is through music. She could very easily be sneaky about her magical aptitude, or benefit from protection from the Buvelle house.

So you're telling me that they went to the trouble of mentioning Sona's adoptive mother in a completely different lore in the Demacia update, but then did nothing to update Sona's lore?
