Riot, give MF the Gangplank treatment.

I think we all agree that since you're taking such drastic measures with Gangplank, Miss Fortune at least deserves Captain Fortune as her classic skin. If you're willing to drastically change GP's concept so much, disabling him because of "lore" (I know about the bug, my tinfoil hat isn't going anywhere), then why can't you do the same to MF? Give her an actual Traditional Skin, and make Captain Fortune classic as a thank you to the players. You made Draven's Legendary skin 975 RP, so why can't you do the same to MF?

I do find it in kind of bad taste tbh. They did a full on Visual update for GP, "Kill" him, then surprise us with his new base being a skin? If Lore can dictate something as drastic as this, a champion not only being disabled but having his base existance changed by the lore, then why is Captain Fortune not her canon base? With all the promotion and lore tie-ins MF had basically the same sort of growth that GP had, and yet her gameplay changes were minor and her new Lore appearance is purchase only.

Now i don't think that Riot really owes us a Miss Fortune skin, but the way that Captain fortune, and really MF in general has been handled during this event lore notwithstanding has really just made her second fiddle to Gangplank, which is honestly just really kind of a bummer.

You don't need the tinfoil hat because they said awhile back that they disabled him for lore reasons.

I want to be excited about all the Gangplank stuff, and the story (which I think was well-written out, despite a little bit of dodgy progression design in the quests)-- but I just. Can't. Because there's this gigantic double standard when it comes to Miss Fortune in all of this.

Gangplank got updated VO! ... Twice (once before he "died", and more lines after). But they couldn't change MF's VO at all? It has now-obsolete references to "summoners", and is pretty bare bones in terms of characterization, but they haven't touched it. Yet they've obviously revised their idea of what Miss Fortune is: she had a rather pivotal role in the Bilgewater event; she hatched this long-planned scheme; she got an updated blurb on the League site. I avoided playing her before because she didn't have much character imo, and I couldn't really connect with her-- but I absolutely adore how they updated her, and how she feels more like an actual character.

It leaves a bad taste in my mouth that her canon skin, Captain Fortune, is just that. A skin.

Default skin matters. A character's classic skin is, for all intents and purposes, the strongest identity of a character. It's a representation of how they exist in the world. Captain Fortune is Miss Fortune now, in canon Runeterra, yet she retains her old appearance. I was already feeling very iffy about that- but when juxtaposed with all the attention Gangplank has gotten, it just... it just feels like a double standard, and one that I don't understand at all.

At the very least, I'd like a good reason why Riot chose to treat Gangplank the way that they did, and why they treated Miss Fortune the way they did. Because to me it just feels awkward and unjustifiable that they did all this for GP, yet conveniently looked the other way for MF...? It makes the GP stuff less special. It just doesn't many any sense.

No, if you read the lore now, she WAS a bounty hunter, but only to gain resources and access to the tools she needed to complete her revenge against Gangplank. Lore wise, Captain Fortune is the reason they made his base model change.

Her new lore is AMAZING. She has her own crew, ship (The Syren), and overthrew Gangplank. Even if he's not dead, he got no ship (The Syren blew it up), no allies (Captain Fortune asked for their heads). Captain Fortune was also advertised as the uncrowned queen of Bilgewater on release.

Well, as far as i know captain mf was an alternative story, like how would be if her role was swapped with gangplank. It makes sense then that the captain skin, right now, is the alternative and no more the actual standing of the champion. Not sure if i mad emyself clear.

The skin was advertised as The uncrowned queen of bilgewater, but that model is the one that was used in the development of the Burning Tide's lore (just look at the login screen). It's not an alternative story if they used Captain Fortune to kill Gangplank in his actual storyline.

in Act III, the crewmember even noticed a change in MF after she acted on her revenge.

Also, you don't have to be a pirate to be a captain.

It would be more fitting to have Captain Fortune as her new classic skin. But I don't want her previous classic skin to be called Traditional Miss Fortune- Why not Bounty Hunter Miss Fortune? That's much more fitting.

i second this , as a dedicated mf player gp getting a more whats basically 2 VU's one of which is now a free skin i feel especially sad that ill have to buy the captain mf skin instead of it being her default

Can't a champion just have a nice thing happen to them and the people that play them without some bloke complaining that everyone should get the same thing?

This wouldn't be special if we decided to do the same for all the champions. Unlike GP, Ms Fortune wasn't disabled for 2 weeks, And while she plays a big role in the event she isn't the main role.

I don't want Captain Fortune to be her main skin though. While the splash is incredible, the in-game model very clearly shows Miss Fortune as a Pirate Captain, not a Pirate Hunter. Doesn't mean I hate it, I love the Captain Fortune's skin, but it really shows a fantasy, not the character.

Not to mention, all her other skins are based on her original model, that's kind of how skins work. By making Captain Fortune the new main skin, the skins would become skins of a skin, which would be awkward.

Buy the skin if you want it.

I love how Riot is nice and gives out more free stuff outside of the norm but people still complain about something else. I wouldn't edge them on about disabling someone due to a lore. They just may pick you main next for the ultimate troll.

because its too late, people already bought the skin and riot dont like refunds.

Miss Fortune really got the shaft in this event.

Her base model is still pretty crappy, and her gameplay 'rework' changed nothing about her play style and addressed zero of her core issues, making her still a bottom tier ADC.
