What the actual fuck Riot

I've been silent this all damn time, I've liked the idea of opening up the possibility of meta without marksmen and was ready to patiently wait for weeks and months until you get him right, but this is too much. Why the hell would you remove the core identity of the champion from his lore, you have released a god damn metal album with his face on it.

It's been well over a year since the Shurima "lore" has butchered characters like Skarner, Amumu and Alistar, and left their lore as a three-line note devoid of all the intricaties we came to love. A YEAR. Games get developed in that time from scratch to release. Games with just as much written content and much, much less of a dev team.

The Bilgewater event gave us some hope, but at this pace it's looking REALLY grim, and we have no grounds to believe or trust you, Riot. It's little details like this that keep ruining our hopes.

Yet again Riot sees fit to simply delete their old characters and replace them with caricatures that we're just supposed to accept. Nothing new here.

Well, it makes sense?

What does Metal have to do with morde right now?

  • His W is flecks of steel
  • His abilities reference metal music.
  • He wears armor.

Comparative to what he does with death?

  • He is a specter/revanent from the shadow isles.
  • He bends spirits to his whim.
  • His abilities drain the life of his foes.
  • The main attraction of Morde has, and always will be, summoning a spirit you killed to fight for you.
  • Death is a type of metal (Death Metal, huehuehue)

I think Death has more to do with Morde than metal, but I think an easy compromise could be to make the title "Lord of Death and Metal" or maybe "Lord of Death metal".

Went from badass unique moniker to generic villain title.

If you guys want to change the title, fine. But at least put some actual thought into it. This is something I could come up with and I don't exactly have creative juices flowing through my brain.

Lets just face the reality guys. Riot is no longer for the players. They stopped giving a shit about the players and there wants/desires in S3 and it's only gotten worse from there. They, like every company in existence that has ever gotten large have forgotten who put them in there position of power in the first place and why we decided to do it.

I still love league. But Riot? I could care less anymore. They've stopped interacting, they've stopped caring and they seemingly do whatever they can just to wave there power over us saying "Rito choice no back talk." Frankly put, there entire company could go under, every single rioter could end up fired and I would not give a damn anymore.

Riot stopped caring about us a long time ago. Might as well accept that and move on now. It'll be less painful in the future.

They are giving the shadow isle the "shurima" treatment, AKA reworking all of it's lore. The shadow isle are only next in the queue, riot plans to rework all of leagues lore one bit at a time.

I hope they don't turn him into a philosophical character who dwells into the emptyness of being neverdead.

Also I think that he (and other SI champions) should have some VO regarding Kindred.

wait, how did Shumia effect Alistar and Skarner? o.O from what I've read Alistar came from a tribe/group of Minotaurs that lived along some kind of boarder wall and Alistar was the mightiest in the group, but one day he was tricked and captured by Noxus. From there he was forced to compete in The Fleshing (like Xin ShaoXinZhao ). For Skarner he is from an ancient race and arose to scout the land to see if it was safe for his kind to return, but found nothing but a conflict between Demacia and Noxus at what is currently the Dominion map.

the only one of those 3 I know was changed was Amumu who went from a Yordel to a Shuriman child.
